Overview

DaySmart Pet is business management software for pet-care businesses, including groomers and salons. Its tools bring appointment scheduling, customer communications, online booking, forms, payments, and business reporting together. Pet records, recurring appointments, and staff scheduling are also listed among its capabilities.

The company says it has provided business management solutions for over 25 years. DaySmart was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The product is paid software, with plans starting at $29 per month and a 14-day trial.

Key features

Appointments and customer communication

The digital appointment book supports drag-and-drop scheduling, with color-coded views organized by day, week, or employee. Automated text and email reminders give customers a way to confirm or reschedule appointments. Recurring appointments are supported, which can help businesses manage repeat visits alongside individual bookings.

Online booking and forms

A customizable booking site accepts appointment requests around the clock. Requests are not automatically confirmed: the business approves each visit. Clients can also complete customizable forms online before an appointment, including paperwork and consent forms.

Payments and reports

The integrated point of sale accepts credit and debit cards, digital wallets, and offline payments. DaySmart's reports cover appointments, client behavior, service performance, revenue, discounts, spending habits, and inventory. The range of measures gives owners information about both day-to-day activity and business performance.

Integrations and support

Listed partners include Beresford gift cards, Glammatic websites, and QuickBooks. QuickBooks requires a separate QuickBooks Online subscription. DaySmart's partner information says US-based customers with Deluxe, Premier, or Platinum subscriptions can connect QuickBooks.

Email, chat, and phone support, along with training and onboarding, are listed across the plans. Trial users should note that some add-ons require verification, and credit card processing is not enabled until the account becomes paid. Trial data is preserved if the account is activated; if it is not activated before the trial expires, that data is lost.

Pricing

DaySmart Pet has no free plan. The 14-day trial does not require a credit card, though some add-ons need verification. The listed plan prices differ according to whether payments are enabled:

Plan	With payments	Without payments	Included allowances
Basic	$29/month	$39/month	1 user, 500 text messages/month, 1,000 email messages/month
Deluxe	$69/month	$89/month	3 users, 1,000 text messages/month, 5,000 email messages/month
Deluxe Growth	$149/month	$169/month	3 users, 1,000 text messages/month, 10,000 email messages/month
Premium	$199/month	$219/month	6 users, 2,500 text messages/month, 10,000 email messages/month
Premium Growth	Contact for pricing	Contact for pricing	Unlimited users, 5,000 text messages/month, 20,000 email messages/month

Each of the four priced plans has a lower listed monthly price with payments enabled. Premium Growth has no price listed, so businesses considering it will need to ask DaySmart for a quote.

Platforms

DaySmart Pet is listed for Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. A mobile app is available, giving businesses listed mobile access in addition to desktop and browser platforms.

Who it's for

DaySmart Pet is aimed at pet-care businesses such as grooming shops and salons that need to coordinate appointments, staff, customer forms, reminders, and payments. Its online booking requests still require business approval, which suits services that want to review appointments before confirming them. Owners who need reporting on sales, services, customers, or inventory may also find the reporting categories relevant.

Businesses should compare plan user and message allowances with their needs, and account for the separate QuickBooks Online subscription if they plan to use that integration. The trial's data-retention condition also matters: activate the account before the trial ends to preserve its data.

Pros and cons

Pros: Appointment views can be organized by day, week, or employee; customers can receive automated text and email reminders; online booking requests are available 24/7; and digital forms can be completed before visits.
Pros: The point of sale supports cards, digital wallets, and offline payments, while reports cover appointments, services, revenue, customer activity, and inventory.
Cons: There is no free plan, and the 14-day trial's data is lost if the account is not activated before it expires.
Cons: Online bookings remain requests until approved by the business. QuickBooks also requires a separate subscription, and its connection is limited to eligible US-based customers with the specified QuickBooks subscriptions.

Alternatives

Businesses comparing tools for grooming appointments and operations can also review Pet grooming software. Other listed options include Argus, Seglo, Collar, Furbello, GroomWork, MoeGo, Groomsoft, and GrooMore.

Verdict

DaySmart Pet combines scheduling, customer-facing booking and forms, reminders, payment processing, and reporting for pet-care businesses. Its five plans vary in price, user limits, and message allowances, with Premium Growth requiring a pricing inquiry. The 14-day trial offers a way to explore the software without a credit card, but businesses should account for the trial's data-loss condition and check eligibility and subscription requirements before relying on the QuickBooks connection.

DaySmart's terms advise customers to enter sensitive personal information only in service areas designated for that information. Businesses handling client paperwork should keep that guidance in mind when deciding what information to enter.
