The clip, as described by PetHelpful, shows farmer Jess Jones resting with her horses—and the surprise sound is only part of what made the moment memorable.
What happens in the horse video?
PetHelpful’s October 3, 2026, account says Jones lay down in a field to see how her horses would respond. Three horses welcomed her, and some lay down beside her. While two horses slept, making snoring or groaning sounds, Trouble produced a much louder noise that the article presents as a fart.
Jones captioned the moment: “THAT FART! It would have made anyone sit up! Where did he store that?! LOL!” PetHelpful does not link to Jones’s original post or identify where it appeared, so the clip’s original platform and posting details are not established.
Why viewers did a double take
The loud sound interrupted an otherwise quiet scene. One viewer, @Anthony King, wrote, “Sounds like a mini chainsaw!” PetHelpful reported that the comment received 10,000 likes; that figure is the article’s report, not an independently verified count.

Jones says the horses’ trust mattered most
Alongside the joke, Jones described the horses lying down near her as a sign of trust. Her reflection, reproduced by PetHelpful, reads: “Farts aside, it gives me so much joy to see the horses trust me so deeply, that they choose to lay down flat on the ground next to me for a nap. What an incredible way to start the day. I hope you feel the sense of calm and peace in this video… (and enjoy this little bit of cheeky humour too!)”
Do horse farts stink?
A viewer asked Jones, “Weird to want to know this but do they stink?” She answered that it depends on what the horses eat: for horses in competition work and on certain grains, she said, there may be an odor “like a boiled grain smell.” Otherwise, she wrote, “on grasses smells like cut grass after a day or two.” That is Jones’s reported experience, not veterinary guidance about what horse manure or gas should smell like.
