RAWZ is not one single diet: its cat-food range includes dry food, pâté, shredded canned food, and products intended only for supplemental feeding. RAWZ says some recipe families are complete and balanced for all life stages, while its shredded cat foods are for adult maintenance and its TAPA and SA-SHI products are supplemental only. The right question is therefore whether the exact recipe fits your cat and how you plan to feed it—not whether every RAWZ product is interchangeable.
What is RAWZ cat food?
RAWZ is an independent pet-food brand whose cat offerings include meal-free and limited-ingredient dry food, 96% meat pâté, and shredded canned food. The company says it sells through independent local pet retailers; availability varies by store, and a limited number of authorized retailers offer online ordering and delivery. See the RAWZ FAQ for the brand’s overview and retailer information.
Recipe format and nutritional adequacy matter more than the brand name alone. A food labeled complete and balanced may be fed as a cat’s sole diet for the life stage named on its label, subject to the cat’s individual needs. A supplemental food is not a complete diet and should not replace one.
Which RAWZ cat foods are complete diets?
RAWZ’s FAQ describes its meal-free and limited-ingredient dry cat foods and 96% meat canned cat foods as complete and balanced for all life stages. It describes shredded canned cat foods as complete and balanced for maintenance, and identifies TAPA and SA-SHI as products for supplemental feeding only. These are the company’s family-level descriptions; check the nutritional adequacy statement on the exact recipe and current package because products and labels can change.

“Complete and balanced” has a specific labeling meaning, not a promise that a food is ideal for every cat. The FDA explains nutritional adequacy statements: a food can substantiate adequacy by meeting an applicable AAFCO nutrient profile or passing an AAFCO feeding protocol. The AAFCO consumer label guide explains how to read these statements. Unless the specific label or manufacturer identifies the method, do not assume which method applies.
What does a RAWZ recipe look like?
96% Salmon Pâté
RAWZ’s official 96% Salmon Pâté page lists salmon first and describes the food as nutritionally complete, with an all-life-stages formulation statement. It is offered in 3 oz and 5.5 oz cans. The listed ingredients include salmon, fish broth, tricalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, fenugreek seeds, natural flavor, salt, vegetable broth, dandelion greens, taurine, and added vitamins and minerals.

- Premium Protein Source: Crafted with real chicken, turkey, and chicken liver for a concentrated protein source
- High Protein, Low Carb: Offers healthy levels of highly digestible protein with reduced carbohydrates
- Grain-Free & Starch-Free: No fillers, no grains, just pure, natural ingredients
- Balanced Fats: Naturally occurring fats in moderate levels for optimal cat health
- Safely Prepared: Gently cooked in smaller batches to ensure food safety and retain nutrients
For combination feeding, RAWZ’s page directs owners to feed one-third cup less dry food for every half can of this pâté. Treat that as recipe-specific guidance, not a universal conversion for other RAWZ foods or a substitute for adjusting portions to your cat’s calorie needs.
Dehydrated Chicken, Turkey & Chicken dry food
The official dry-recipe page provides ingredients, analysis, feeding information, and an all-life-stages formulation statement for Dehydrated Chicken, Turkey & Chicken. Use that page and the package for this recipe’s details; nutrient figures and feeding instructions from one formula should not be applied to another.

What do the ingredient and sourcing claims tell you?
RAWZ says it does not add gums to applicable wet foods, does not use rendered added fats, and uses wild-caught fish in fish-containing recipes. These are company claims about its formulas and sourcing, not independent findings. For a particular food, use its current ingredient list to check for proteins or other ingredients that matter to your cat.
An ingredient list can help identify recipe contents, but it does not establish clinical superiority. A named protein or limited-ingredient positioning also does not, by itself, confirm suitability for a cat with an allergy or medical condition. Ask your veterinarian about a diet trial or therapeutic nutrition when a health concern is involved.

Is RAWZ a good choice for your cat?
RAWZ may be worth considering if you want to compare dry food, pâté, or shredded options and can find a recipe whose adequacy statement and feeding format fit your plan. The label’s life-stage claim is not an individualized nutritional assessment. Cats with medical conditions, suspected food allergies, or special calorie or nutrient requirements need guidance from a veterinarian.
- If it will be the only food: choose a recipe labeled complete and balanced for your cat’s life stage, and avoid products identified as supplemental feeding only.
- If you plan to mix formats: follow the specific recipes’ combination-feeding directions and adjust portions rather than adding canned food on top of an unchanged dry ration.
- If you are choosing for a health reason: ask a veterinarian whether the recipe meets the relevant nutritional needs; the available RAWZ claims do not establish that its foods treat or prevent disease.
RAWZ says it works with veterinarians and nutritionists, but that statement does not demonstrate a particular clinical outcome. No specific health benefit should be inferred from the brand’s adequacy claims or ingredient marketing.

How to buy RAWZ safely
RAWZ recommends purchasing through independent retailers and provides an authorized retailer directory. The company cautions that it cannot guarantee the quality or safety of products sold by unauthorized online sellers because it cannot know how those products were obtained, handled, or stored.
- Look up the store in RAWZ’s authorized retailer directory.
- Confirm with the retailer that it is authorized and that it has the exact recipe and package size you want.
- For an online order, verify that the seller is the authorized retailer itself, not simply a marketplace listing that uses the RAWZ name.
- When the food arrives, check the recipe, package integrity, and label before feeding it.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
The official product pages and FAQ provide recipe, adequacy, ingredient, and feeding information. They do not establish that RAWZ prevents, treats, or improves a health condition. A secondary review by Cat Food Advisor gives estimated dry-matter nutrient values for RAWZ dry foods and makes a recall-history statement; those are the reviewer’s estimates and assessment, not regulator-confirmed or independently comprehensive brand-wide findings. They are not clinical evidence of how a recipe will affect an individual cat.
RAWZ also says it donates 100% of profits through the RAWZ Fund to nonprofit organizations supporting service dogs and people affected by traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries. This is the company’s stated charitable policy; an independently audited donation total is not established by the cited company information.
