Key features

Scheduling and online booking

The calendar supports drag-and-drop scheduling, recurring appointments and day, week or multi-groomer views. Groom times can be calculated from a pet’s breed, coat and size, helping businesses plan appointments. Each business can provide a shareable booking page or embed one on its website. The booking flow can show availability, ask custom questions, collect deposits and send automatic confirmations.

Pet records and client management

Pet profiles can store breed, coat type, allergies, behaviour notes, visit history and photos. A breed knowledge base and client segments round out the record-keeping tools, giving groomers ways to organize pet details and client groups.

Payments and reminders

Payment tools include one-tap invoices, deposits, store credit, outstanding-balance tracking, tax rates and branded invoices. Automated communications can send 24-hour appointment reminders, vaccine-expiry and re-groom nudges, and reply-to-confirm requests.

Reporting

Reports cover revenue by day, service and staff, as well as no-show and rebooking trends, expenses, tax collected and profit. These views can help a business review appointment and financial activity.

Pricing

GroomWork uses a freemium model and offers a free plan. Its pricing information lists the Free plan at 0.00 USD per free, billed Free forever, with 40 monthly appointments. A pricing FAQ gives a different limit of up to 30 appointments a month and says no credit card is required, so prospective users may want to confirm the current free-plan allowance.

The listed paid plans are Solo at 24.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with unlimited appointments for independent groomers; and Salon at 59.00 USD per month, billed monthly, with unlimited appointments, multi-groomer scheduling, and fleet and mobile grooming tools. The pricing note also says paid plans start at $19/mo (annual). Paid plans include a free trial, but its length is not specified.

Subscription fees are non-refundable. Customers can cancel at any time and keep access through the current billing period. Billing-error questions can be sent to billing@groomwork.com; general questions can be sent to hello@groomwork.com.

Platforms

GroomWork is available on the web. Android and iOS apps are described as almost here and marked coming soon, so businesses that need a native mobile app now should note that mobile app availability is listed as no.

Who it's for

GroomWork is aimed at independent groomers and salons that want appointment management, client and pet records, payment tools and follow-up messages in one system. Its multi-groomer views and Salon plan features may also suit businesses coordinating several groomers or mobile grooming operations. The company says grooming businesses across the US, UK, Canada and Australia use the service.

Verdict

GroomWork brings together core grooming-business tasks, from scheduling and booking to pet records, payments, reminders and reports. It may be a practical fit for independent groomers or salons looking for a web-based system with a free entry plan. Before choosing it, clarify which appointment limit applies to the Free plan, check whether the paid-plan trial suits your needs, and consider whether the lack of currently available native mobile apps affects your workflow.
