Advertising disclosure
Animalso is free to read. This is how it pays for itself.
Advertising
Stories in The Den, the blog, carry advertising. A maker can also sponsor a story: a link in it, a place in one of its buying guides, or a guest story our editors check and edit.
Links that earn a fee
Some links to a maker's site or to a shop earn Animalso a referral fee when a reader buys. That never costs the reader anything.
Breeders, breed clubs and rescues
The businesses in a breed page's "Breeders, clubs and rescues" box pay to be listed there. An editor checks each one before it appears (a real kennel, club, rescue or shelter, with its own website, that keeps the breed named), but we do not inspect kennels or animals: visit, meet the animals and ask questions before you buy or adopt.
What brands can buy
- A sponsorship of a whole list, such as Dog breeds, or the rotating featured slot.
- A link or a place in one of The Den's stories, or a guest story.
- For pet-care software: a listing at the place the score gives it, with a link search engines follow; a numbered place at the top of its list (the software there moves down one); a place on a rival's page; protection from rivals on its own page.
The facts on a page are not for sale. Breed lists are in A-to-Z order and have no paid places. Claiming a page that already exists is free: once an editor approves the claim, the maker edits their own words, links, pictures and plans on it, shown as "Updated by the maker". Animalso's own words, scores and places are never the maker's to change.
