Reading Animalso
Animalso is a Yorker Media site. Breed facts come from Wikidata and Wikipedia; photographs from Wikimedia Commons under the licence shown with each one. Software facts are read from each maker's own pages, with the address and date on the page. They are information, not veterinary advice: ask a vet about your own animal.
Listing a kennel, club or rescue
A breeder, breed club, rescue or shelter is listed on the pages of the breeds it keeps once an editor has checked it. We may decline a listing (and refund it in full) when we cannot confirm the business, and we take a listing down if we learn it misleads readers or mistreats animals. A listing is not an endorsement: readers should visit and ask questions before they buy or adopt.
Claiming a page
A maker can claim the page its software already has, for free. Once an editor approves the claim, the maker edits their own name, words, links, pictures and plans on it; each change shows as "Updated by the maker", and a website on another domain waits for an editor. Animalso's own words, scores and places are never the maker's to change: a maker who finds a wrong fact in them reports it, and an editor checks it against the maker's own pages.
Buying a place
Listings, numbered places, sponsorships and placements in stories are sold monthly or yearly or, where offered, once. A monthly or yearly order paid by card renews each period until it is cancelled (write to us to cancel); one paid by bank transfer or PayPal runs one term, and the next term is a new order. A listing goes live within two working days of payment, or the payment is refunded in full. A monthly or yearly place stays up to the end of the period paid for; a place paid once stays for as long as Animalso and the product exist.
Cards, UPI and local methods are taken by Dodo Payments; a bank transfer in US dollars or PayPal (with 10% added) works too, and that order goes live when the payment arrives. Prices are in US dollars, before tax.
We may decline or refund an order for a business or product we cannot check, or one outside what Animalso covers.
