LG’s PuriCare AeroCatTower is an air purifier built around a cat’s favorite behavior: resting in an elevated, enclosed spot. The appliance combines a heated, dome-shaped cat perch with multi-stage air filtration, quieter operation while a cat is sitting on it, and ThinQ app features that can track resting time and weight trends.
That makes it more than a conventional LG AeroCatTower air purifier: it is simultaneously a piece of cat furniture, an air-cleaning appliance, and a lightweight pet-monitoring tool. However, availability and specifications vary by country, and the performance figures currently documented are primarily LG’s own controlled-test claims—not proof that the device treats allergies or improves feline health.
What is the LG AeroCatTower?
LG first presented the AeroCat concept as a cat bed combined with an air purifier. Later regional product pages use the name PuriCare AeroCatTower and describe a tower-style appliance with a cat resting area at the top.

LG has documented market-specific versions including Japan’s AS207CBZ0 and Hong Kong’s AF25CATM. Those model numbers should not be treated as interchangeable, and the specifications of one regional version should not automatically be assumed to apply to another.
The product is aimed at owners who want air cleaning without adding a separate cat tree or bed to the room. Its unusual selling point is the integration: the cat’s preferred resting location becomes part of the purifier’s design.
How the cat perch works
A heated, dome-shaped seat
The upper section is a dome-shaped resting area intended to provide a warm, enclosed place for a cat to settle. LG’s Hong Kong documentation describes two heat settings, a timer-based mode designed to maintain consistent warmth, and a sensing-warmth mode that is intended to activate when the cat is seated.
The Japanese product page gives example temperature settings of approximately 34±1°C and 39±1°C for that market’s model. Those figures are useful for understanding the design, but they should not be assumed to describe every AeroCatTower sold elsewhere.

As with any heated pet product, the cat should be able to leave the warm area freely. Owners should also pay attention to how their individual cat responds rather than assuming that every animal will prefer the same temperature or enclosed design.
A removable access step
The Japanese version includes a small step to help a cat reach the elevated seat. LG specifically describes it as potentially useful for short-legged or older cats, and says it can be removed when unnecessary.
The step may make access easier, but it is not a guarantee that the tower will suit every senior, overweight, arthritic, nervous, or mobility-limited cat. Measure the available floor space and observe whether your cat can climb, turn around, and get down safely.
Quieter operation when the cat is resting
LG calls the cat-focused setting “cat relax” or pet mode, depending on the regional documentation. The company says the purifier can reduce airflow or operate more quietly while the cat is using the seat, then increase airflow after the cat leaves.

This is primarily a comfort feature. It may make the perch less disruptive while occupied, but it should not be interpreted as proof that the purifier cleans air better than competing models in every room or operating condition. Lower airflow can also mean less air processed during the period when the cat is sitting on the unit.
What the air purifier claims to filter
LG Japan describes a three-stage system consisting of:
- a removable prefilter;
- a HEPA filter; and
- a photocatalytic deodorization filter.
LG says the system is intended to address fine dust, pollen, allergens, pet hair, and pet odors. The company also publishes controlled deodorization tests involving specified odor compounds and test conditions.
LG Hong Kong describes a HEPA13 filter and reports manufacturer-tested results for specified bacteria, a viral surrogate, sodium chloride, and fine-particle tests. These are claims made under particular test conditions. They are not the same as independent, real-home testing, and they do not establish that the appliance removes every pet allergen from a home.

ThinQ app: weight and resting-time tracking
The AeroCatTower’s other unusual feature is its connection to LG’s ThinQ app. LG says the app can show changes in a cat’s weight and resting time. The Japanese documentation says up to four cats can be managed in the app.
The app can also be used to control functions such as:
- airflow;
- heating;
- power; and
- other operating settings.
LG also says owners can check air quality and filter status through the app. Trend information may be useful: a gradual change in weight or a sudden reduction in normal resting behavior could prompt an owner to pay closer attention.

But app-based tracking is not veterinary diagnosis. A reading can be affected by which cat is using the perch, the cat’s position, movement, food intake, or the product’s ability to identify individual animals. Any concerning weight change, lethargy, breathing problem, appetite change, or behavior change should be discussed with a veterinarian.
Cleaning and maintenance are part of ownership
The AeroCatTower is not a “set it and forget it” cat accessory. LG’s U.S. support documentation says owners should regularly clean the fine-dust filter, dust sensor, cat dome, and exterior of the cushion.
LG’s documented care instructions include:
- Fine-dust filter: gently vacuum or brush it rather than treating it like a washable fabric filter.
- Dust sensor: wipe the sensor lens with a slightly damp cotton swab, then dry it.
- Cushion: hand-wash only the removable cushion cover.
- Cushion care: do not machine-wash or machine-dry the cushion.
- Cat dome: do not wash the dome with water.
Dust, fur, and dander can build up quickly in a product designed for a cat’s resting area. A blocked or dirty filter can reduce performance, while a neglected perch may become less appealing to the cat. Check the instructions for the exact regional model before cleaning or ordering replacement parts.
An exact-compatible replacement filter is a sensible ownership consideration, but a generic filter should not be assumed to fit. The model number, dimensions, filtration specification, and any sensor or housing requirements need to match. The same caution applies to replacement cushions and cat-dome components.

The concept makes the most sense for a cat that already enjoys elevated perches, enclosed beds, or warm resting places. It may also appeal to owners who want a pet air purifier that occupies the footprint of one cat accessory rather than adding a purifier beside a separate bed or cat tree.
It could be a good fit if you:
- want to combine cat furniture and air cleaning in one appliance;
- have a cat that regularly chooses high or enclosed resting spots;
- like the idea of tracking resting-time and weight trends in an app;
- are willing to clean filters, sensors, fabric, and the dome regularly; and
- can verify that the model is sold and supported in your country.
Who should be cautious?
The AeroCatTower may be a poor choice if your cat avoids enclosed spaces, dislikes heated beds, cannot safely climb to an elevated perch, or tends to knock over or damage household appliances. It may also be unnecessary if you already own a high-quality purifier and your cat has a favorite bed that it reliably uses.
Owners shopping mainly for allergy control should compare the purifier’s independently verified performance, room coverage, replacement-filter cost, noise, and operating settings—not just the cat furniture. A cat perch does not make a purifier medically superior.
Likewise, owners seeking health monitoring should treat the ThinQ information as an observation tool. It can help reveal a trend, but it cannot replace a scale, careful observation, or veterinary care when a cat seems unwell.

Availability and model differences
LG discussed the AeroCat concept in connection with IFA 2024 and CES 2025 coverage. Early CES coverage did not establish a price or release date. Since then, LG regional pages have documented AeroCatTower models in Japan and Hong Kong, and LG Taiwan has included the product in its PuriCare lineup.
A U.S. LG support page exists, but the research available for this article does not establish a current U.S. consumer retail listing, a verified U.S. Amazon listing, or universal global availability. Before buying, check:
- the official LG site for your country;
- the exact model number;
- the local voltage and plug requirements;
- replacement-filter availability; and
- warranty and app support in your region.
Do not assume that an imported model will have the same heating settings, app functions, filter designation, warranty, or service coverage as a locally sold version.
Bottom line for cat owners
The LG AeroCatTower is interesting because it gives an air purifier a reason for a cat to occupy it. Its heated perch, optional step, quieter pet mode, and ThinQ tracking make it more distinctive than a standard purifier placed next to a cat bed.

If the product is sold in your region at a price you consider reasonable—and your cat actually likes the perch—it could be a clever three-in-one appliance. If not, a conventional air purifier plus a proven cat bed may be the simpler and more flexible solution.
