Republic of Cats is a Great Britain-oriented cat-food subscription that combines selectable wet recipes with a dry-food blend tailored using information about your cat. Its clearest strengths are recipe choice and home delivery; the main reason to inspect it carefully is that published ingredient descriptions use broad categories and public information about sourcing and manufacturing is limited. Check current labels, prices and subscription terms before ordering.
How the Republic of Cats subscription works
The official website says customers provide information about their cat, choose wet-food recipes and receive a tailored kibble blend by home delivery. The brand describes the service as offering “complete flexibility, hassle-free feeding and a commitment-free subscription”—marketing language, not a guarantee of any particular cancellation or delivery term. Confirm that your address is eligible before ordering; the service is oriented to Great Britain.
Cats.com’s review says meal quantities are based on details such as a cat’s weight, age and health, and that customers can adjust orders after the first delivery. Those details are the reviewer’s account and may not reflect current service terms. The official homepage displayed a £5 taster box on October 5, 2026. Treat that as a dated offer, not a standing price: check the live checkout for eligibility, contents, delivery charges, renewal or continuation, and cancellation conditions.
What recipes and formats are described
Cats.com’s January 12, 2026 review describes eight wet-food flavours alongside dry food, with wet formats including pâté, pieces in gravy and stews. Its examples include Chicken & Pork Pâté, Pâté with Fish and Tailored Blend Dry Food. Availability and names can change, so use the current product page and packaging to confirm the range.

What the published recipe details show
Chicken & Pork Pâté
Cats.com reports that the reviewed label listed “Meat and Animal Derivatives 60% (At Least 4% Is Chicken and at least 4% Is Pork)*, Minerals, Derivatives of Vegetable Origin, Various Sugars.” The reviewer also reports crude protein of 10.5%, crude fat of 6.5%, crude fibre of 0.05%, moisture of 77.5%, ash of 3% and taurine of 0.53%, with approximately 32 calories per ounce. The ingredient declaration gives minimum percentages for chicken and pork within a broad meat-and-animal-derivatives category; it does not identify every animal ingredient. These are details recorded by the reviewer, not a fresh check of the package now on sale.
Pâté with Fish
The review records 56% meat and animal derivatives, plus fish and fish derivatives with at least 4% fish, minerals, derivatives of vegetable origin and “various sugars.” It gives an energy value of about 112 kcal per 100 g. As with the chicken recipe, check the current label rather than assuming the reviewed formulation is unchanged.

Tailored Blend Dry Food
For one dry-food example, Cats.com lists maize, chicken, wheat, dried soya beans, maize gluten, turkey, dried poultry and animal fat among the primary ingredients. Its reported analysis is crude protein 34.3%, crude fat 14.5%, crude fibre 3.5% and moisture 10%, with an estimated 389 kcal per 100 g. These figures describe the reviewer’s example, not necessarily every tailored blend.
Cats.com notes that automatically calculated nutrient charts may differ from figures in its article text. For a decision about your cat, compare the current package’s full ingredient list, analytical constituents, calorie information, life-stage suitability and feeding guide. Ask your veterinarian before changing food for a cat with a diagnosed condition or specific dietary needs.

What Cats.com thought of the food and service
Cats.com awarded Republic of Cats 7.7/10 overall (44/60, grade B) in its review, last updated January 12, 2026. Its category scores were:
| Category | Cats.com score |
|---|---|
| Species appropriateness | 7/10 |
| Ingredient quality | 6/10 |
| Product variety | 8/10 |
| Price | 5/10 |
| Customer experience | 8/10 |
| Recall history | 9/10 |
These are Cats.com’s judgments using its rubric, not a universal rating or a current price comparison. The review’s positives include range, tailored ordering and delivery convenience. Its reservations include broad ingredient terms, the “various sugars” listed in the examples, and limited public detail about sourcing and manufacturing. The reviewer said it found no recalls in its research; that is not a current certification from a regulator or a guarantee about future recalls.

What is unclear—and what not to assume
The review says it could not establish the food’s manufacturing or ingredient-sourcing arrangements. It mentions an investor relationship but does not confirm a manufacturer. That is not evidence that Purina makes the food, so readers should not treat the relationship as proof of who produces it. Ask the company directly if manufacturer identity or sourcing is important to your decision.
The official homepage also claims that “Over 60% of customers saw results in less than a month.” The page does not identify a study, research organization, methodology or year for that claim. It should not be read as independently verified evidence that the food produces a particular health or nutrition outcome.

What to check before subscribing
- Current recipe labels: Check named animal ingredients, percentages, analytical constituents, calories and life-stage suitability for the exact products in your order.
- Cost beyond the offer: Confirm the recurring price, quantity supplied, delivery charges and any minimum order or continuation terms in checkout. The dated £5 taster offer does not establish the ongoing cost.
- Control over the plan: Verify how to change recipes, portions and delivery timing, and how cancellation works under the terms in force when you sign up.
- Delivery eligibility: Confirm the service delivers to your postcode; do not assume availability throughout every part of the UK.
- Evidence and support: If ingredient origin, manufacturer or suitability for a health condition matters, seek current written information from the company or advice from your veterinarian.
For a comparison with another food or subscription, focus on label specificity, recipe and texture choices, complete feeding information, the real recurring cost, order controls and disclosure of sourcing or manufacturing. No current numeric cross-brand comparison is established here. Cats.com’s published review is available at Cats.com; current offer and service details are on the Republic of Cats homepage.
