Raid Ant & Roach Killer 26 is a 17.5-ounce spray described for ants, roaches and other listed bugs. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency registration record identifies it as RAID ANT & ROACH 26 (EPA Reg. No. 4822-596) with 0.1% cypermethrin and 0.06% imiprothrin.
Use it as a targeted contact treatment rather than assuming it is a permanent barrier. Follow the current label for approved surfaces, ventilation, food-area precautions, protective equipment and re-entry. The registration directions also emphasize non-chemical measures: clean food spills, keep food in sealed containers and caulk cracks and other entry points.

When a perimeter product is the better choice
If insects are entering from outside, a perimeter treatment is more directly suited to prevention than repeatedly spraying visible bugs indoors. Raid MAX Perimeter Protection is labeled for indoor and outdoor use against ants, fleas, flies, gnats, roaches, ticks, silverfish, crickets, spiders, mosquitoes and other listed pests. SC Johnson states that it keeps American cockroaches and Argentine ants away for up to 18 months on non-porous surfaces. That is a manufacturer claim for the named pests and surfaces, not a guarantee for every insect, climate or building.

Raid Flying Insect Killer 7 is a 15-ounce aerosol for indoor and outdoor use against listed flying insects, including flies, mosquitoes, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, fruit flies and non-biting gnats. It is the most directly matched option among these products when the problem is a flying insect rather than a crawling insect.
Use it only in locations and against species named on the current label. Keep pets, children, food, dishes and aquariums away as required; ventilate and observe the label’s re-entry directions before allowing anyone back into the treated area.

When a Raid fogger makes sense—and when it does not
What the Deep Reach Fogger is designed to do
Raid MAX Concentrated Deep Reach Fogger is intended to penetrate cracks and crevices and continue killing with residual action. The manufacturer lists ants, carpet beetles, crickets, earwigs, fleas, gnats, houseflies, mosquitoes, roaches, silverfish, spiders, ticks, wasps and other pests, and claims residual action for up to two months. Treat that period as a product claim, not an independently verified whole-home result.
Preparation and evacuation are non-negotiable
Raid’s official safety guidance says to turn off ignition sources, cover exposed food, dishes and utensils, remove people and pets, and leave immediately once dispensing begins. Do not use a fogger in a room smaller than 5 feet by 5 feet. Apartment residents should consult building management because fog can travel through shared airways.
- Read the complete, current label and calculate the permitted number of foggers for the space.
- Remove people, pets and unprotected plants; cover or remove food, dishes, utensils and food-preparation equipment.
- Turn off flames, pilot lights, heaters and other ignition sources as the label directs.
- Place the fogger at least six feet from ignition sources when that distance is required by the label, activate it, and leave immediately.
- Keep everyone out for the label-specified period, then ventilate exactly as directed before re-entry.
The EPA says total-release foggers should not be the only method used to control bed bugs. More broadly, a fogger is a poor first choice when a smaller, targeted treatment or sanitation and exclusion can address the source with less exposure and disruption.

Pet-safety checklist for any Raid treatment
- Identify the exact product, pest and treatment site before spraying.
- Read the current label every time; formulas, approved sites and re-entry instructions can differ by product and package.
- Remove pets, children, food and water bowls from the treatment area as directed.
- Keep birds, fish, reptiles and small mammals away unless the label specifically explains safe arrangements; do not assume a ventilated room is safe for every species.
- Prevent pets from licking wet residues or contacting treated surfaces until the label permits re-entry.
- Never spray directly on a pet, its bedding, food, water or toys unless the product is specifically labeled for that use.
- Store cans and unused products locked away, and dispose of containers according to local instructions.
How to choose without over-treating your home
Choose a targeted aerosol when
You can identify a small, active infestation of a listed insect and treat only the approved surfaces. This usually involves less preparation than a fogger.
Choose a perimeter treatment when
Insects are repeatedly crossing exterior entry points and the label permits treatment of those surfaces. Combine it with sealing cracks, repairing screens and removing food or moisture sources.

The infestation is recurring, widespread, inside wall voids, or involves pests that require specialized control, such as bed bugs. Escalate rather than repeatedly fogging or spraying without finding the source.

What “repellent” means here
Most products in this comparison are insecticides, not universal repellents. A contact spray is meant to kill insects it reaches; a perimeter product is intended to leave a treated barrier; and a fogger distributes insecticide through an enclosed space.
