Good Boy is a 2025 supernatural horror film about Indy, a dog who moves with his owner and best friend, Todd, from city life to a rural family home and senses a threat the humans do not initially understand. Its first trailer was reported released on August 18, 2025, and its announced U.S. theatrical release date was October 3, 2025; both dates have passed. Apple TV has a U.S. listing for the film, but viewing availability varies by region and can change.
The phrase “told through a dog’s point of view” describes the film’s storytelling perspective; it does not mean every scene was literally recorded from a camera fixed to Indy. The story follows what Indy notices and his effort to protect Todd as supernatural forces threaten them.
What is Good Boy about?
In the official synopsis, Indy leaves city life with Todd for a long-vacant family home in the country. Indy is wary of the house, notices an invisible presence, and tries to protect Todd as dark forces threaten him.
The film’s horror premise turns on the gap between what Indy senses and what the people around him understand. The trailer introduces the move and shows Indy reacting to things in the house that appear to threaten their safety. That is a general description of the trailer, not a shot-by-shot transcript.

What does “a dog’s point of view” mean?
The phrase describes how the story is anchored in Indy’s perspective and attachment to Todd. It should not be read as a claim that the whole film is a literal canine-eye recording. The trailer report describes the film as being filmed from a dog’s point of view, while the official synopsis emphasizes Indy’s wariness of the house and unwavering affection for Todd.
Who made Good Boy?
Ben Leonberg directed and co-wrote the film with Alex Cannon. Apple TV identifies Shane Jensen as Todd and lists Larry Fessenden, Arielle Friedman, and Indy among the cast. The Indonesian regulator’s listing also names Indy, Shane Jensen, Arielle Friedman, and Larry Fessenden.
