Elevated dog bowls are a matter of fit and convenience, not a proven way to prevent bloat or improve health. The research-backed candidates below offer different practical features—such as spill containment, adjustable height, single-bowl designs, and travel-friendly construction—but their current specifications and availability should be checked before purchase. If your dog is at risk for gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), or you are considering a raised bowl for a medical condition, ask your veterinarian first.

Our picks at a glance

Product Useful distinction What to verify
Neater Feeder Express Elevated Dog Bowls Spill-containing base and removable bowls Size, exact model, and which parts are dishwasher-safe
Dogit Elevated Stainless Steel Dog Bowl Single bowl; a slow-feeder variant is also described Size, bowl opening, and current variant details
IRIS Raised Plastic Dog Feeder Named as a large-dog option in an editorial guide Exact model, bowl materials, and dimensions
Pawfect Pets Premium Non-Skid Elevated Dog Bowl Bamboo stand with stainless-steel bowls Size, stability, and care instructions
Artisan Fossil Double Dog Feeder Ceramic-bowl option Food-grade labeling and bowl condition
Neater Raised Slow Feeder Elevated Dog Bowl Combines a raised stand with a slow-feed bowl Fit, cleaning, and whether a slow feeder suits your dog
SIMMOUDE Collapsible Elevated Dog Bowls Folding, travel-oriented format Dimensions, stability, and current availability

These are research candidates, not independently tested winners. Vetstreet’s product guide describes the candidates and features; it does not establish that they remain the best products available in October 2026. Confirm the current model, seller, specifications, and price before ordering.

1. Neater Feeder Express Elevated Dog Bowls: best for spill containment

Vetstreet describes the Neater Feeder Express as having a spill-containing base, removable bowls, and non-slip feet. That design may help keep food and water mess off the floor, which is a practical benefit distinct from raising the bowls. The guide says the Express is best sized for small to medium dogs and points to a taller Deluxe variant.

  • Consider it for: A dog that splashes or scatters food, if the size and bowl fit are right.
  • Check before buying: The exact Express or Deluxe model, bowl dimensions, and cleaning instructions for each part.
  • Keep expectations practical: A catch basin can contain some spills, but it does not guarantee a mess-free feeding area.

2. Dogit Elevated Stainless Steel Dog Bowl: best single-bowl option

Vetstreet describes the Dogit Elevated Stainless Steel Dog Bowl as a single-bowl option with a removable, dishwasher-safe steel bowl, anti-skid feet, and four sizes. The same guide notes a slow-feeder variant. Confirm the current listing and care instructions for the particular version you are considering.

XIAZ Elevated Dog Bowls Large Breed Raised Dogs Bowl Stand Large/Medium Sized Dog Stainless Steel Food Water Bowl Stands 5 Heights Adjustable 9/11/12/14in Black Pet Feeder Dish Station
  • ATTENTION: Please check the size chart before oder, make sure the stand height will fit your dog well. We suggest to measure dog height from foot to the middle line of the body, and data needs to meet a certain height of the stand approximately, puppy's whole body height under 15inch won't fit after setting the stand up.
  • FOR SENIOR DOGS: Effectively protects the spine and neck, avoiding appetite problems caused by prolonged uncomfortable posture. An adjustable dog bowl stand for dogs that tend to vomit when eating, have limited mobility, and suffer from arthritis.
  • ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT RAISED DOG BOWLS: Our raised dog bowls for large sized dog can be adjusted to four different heights 3.15'' 9.09'' 10.63'' 12.20'' 13.78'', suit for all breeds and ages. Designed for large dogs, the maximum adjustable height is approximately 1.58 inch higher to fit large dogs needs.
  • DUAL STAINLESS STEEL DOG BOWLS: Comes with two dog bowls for water or food, 7.87x 2.56 inch, meet the feeding needs of most dogs for a day. Easy to detach and clean, dish-washable. The oil in dog food can be cleaned more easily to avoid problems such as black chin.
  • ANTI-SLIP QUIET DURABLE: The non-slip pads and the silent strip on the elevated dog bowl stand, prevents it from being accidentally knocked over by your dog, but also ensures that the bowl and stand stay stable even during vigorous eating. Avoid daily hassle of cleaning up the floor after your dog's meal!
  • Consider it for: A household that wants one bowl rather than a double feeder.
  • Check before buying: Bowl opening and capacity as well as the stand’s dimensions and stability.
  • Slow-feeder note: A ridged bowl is a separate eating-speed aid; do not treat it as a proven way to prevent GDV.

3. IRIS Raised Plastic Dog Feeder: best candidate for larger dogs

Vetstreet names an IRIS Raised Plastic Dog Feeder as a large-dog option. That editorial mention is not enough to establish a precise current model, bowl material, height, or dimensions, so check the product listing carefully before deciding whether it fits your dog.

  • Consider it for: A larger dog only if the actual bowl size, rim height, and base suit that individual dog.
  • Check before buying: Exact model identity, bowl materials, dimensions, stability, and component-specific cleaning directions.

4. Pawfect Pets Premium Non-Skid Elevated Dog Bowl: best bamboo-and-steel format

Vetstreet describes the Pawfect Pets Premium Non-Skid Elevated Dog Bowl as a bamboo stand with stainless-steel bowls. This combination offers a different look from an all-plastic or all-metal feeder, but the exact size and care requirements should be confirmed from the current product information.

  • Consider it for: A home where a bamboo stand and removable steel bowls suit the space and cleaning routine.
  • Check before buying: Stand stability, bowl fit, and whether the stand should be wiped rather than washed or soaked.

5. Artisan Fossil Double Dog Feeder: best ceramic-bowl candidate

Vetstreet describes the Artisan Fossil Double Dog Feeder as using heavy, lead-free stoneware bowls. Ceramic can be heavier than steel or plastic, but it can also chip or break. The American Kennel Club advises choosing ceramic that is food-grade and non-toxic; inspect it for chips and cracks and confirm the product’s labeling.

6. Neater Raised Slow Feeder Elevated Dog Bowl: best for an eating-speed aid

This candidate combines an elevated stand with a slow-feed bowl. The American Kennel Club describes ridged slow-feed bowls as a way to slow eating, but the dossier does not establish that slow feeding prevents bloat. Choose this format only if a slow-feed design is appropriate for your dog, and verify the exact bowl and stand dimensions and cleaning instructions.

  • Consider it for: A dog that needs an eating-speed aid and can use the bowl comfortably.
  • Check before buying: Fit, stability, and whether the ridged bowl is practical to clean.
  • Do not assume: Adding a raised stand makes a slow feeder a GDV-prevention treatment.

7. SIMMOUDE Collapsible Elevated Dog Bowls: best travel-oriented format

Vetstreet describes the SIMMOUDE Collapsible Elevated Dog Bowls as a travel-oriented design with a folding stand and collapsible bowls. Verify the current dimensions, how securely the stand sets up, and whether the configuration suits your dog before relying on it away from home.

  • Consider it for: Travel or storage when a foldable format is useful.
  • Check before buying: Dimensions, stability on the intended surface, bowl capacity, and current availability.

How to choose a bowl that fits your dog

There is no single bowl height established here as right for every dog. Compare the bowl rim with your dog’s natural standing posture, and consult a veterinarian for height or feeding-position decisions related to a diagnosed condition. Bowl capacity should suit the dog’s food and water needs, and the opening should fit the dog’s face.

  • Healthy Dining Experience: The dog feeding station provides your pet with a comfortable and healthy dining position that can help aid in their digestion. Eliminating the need to have them stoop over to eat helps reduce strain on their neck and back.
  • Adjustable Stand with Five Heights: This elevated feeder adjusts to five heights from 3.15 to 12.2 inches, allowing you to find the most comfortable feeding position for your dog. Allow a dog to feed and drink more easily without having to put its head all the way down to the ground.
  • Two Stainless Steel Bowls Included: Comes with a total of two stainless steel bowls for easy switch-outs. The size is 2.36 x 9 inches, perfect for dry kibble, wet food, treats, or water. They’re safe for easy cleaning, you can put the whole bowl in the dishwasher.
  • Keeps the Bowl and Feeding Area Clean: Using the elevated bowl can keep your feeding station orderly and clean. Besides, raised dog bowls prevent dust, debris, and dog hair from coating your dog’s bowl, keeping it cleaner and hygienic.
  • Easy to Use Anti-slip Stand: Elevated pet bowls with antislip feet make it stable and prevent sliding, offering protection for your floors also. Noise-free rubber rim for your dog to enjoy quiet dining. Fold and store the legs with a simple push of a button after use.
  1. Measure your dog and compare that fit with the actual bowl rim and opening, not just a marketing label for stand height.
  2. Match capacity to your dog’s meal and water needs. A larger bowl is not automatically a better fit.
  3. Check whether the bowl opening and shape work for your dog’s face; the American Kennel Club notes that narrow openings may suit dogs with long ears.
  4. Assess the stand’s footprint, feet, and stability on the floor where you plan to use it.
  5. If your dog has a health condition or you are unsure about feeding position, ask the treating veterinarian before switching.

Materials and cleaning

Consider the bowl material separately from the stand. The American Kennel Club describes stainless steel as durable and easy to clean, ceramic as heavy but vulnerable to chips or breaks, and plastic as potentially prone to scratches and being pushed around. Check the care instructions for the exact model: dishwasher-safe bowls do not mean the stand or every component is dishwasher-safe.

  • Stainless steel: A practical option for routine cleaning; inspect bowls for damage.
  • Ceramic: Choose food-grade, non-toxic bowls and check regularly for chips or cracks.
  • Plastic: Check for scratches and whether the feeder moves when your dog eats.
  • Wood or bamboo stands: Verify care instructions and avoid assuming the stand can be soaked or put in a dishwasher.

The American Kennel Club recommends regular bowl washing, with bowls for wet food, raw food, or soaked kibble washed after each meal and bowls for dry food washed daily. Clean any stand, catch basin, or other component according to its own instructions.

Are elevated dog bowls safe? What the GDV evidence says

Elevated bowls have not been shown to reduce the risk of GDV. Louise Anne Buckley’s 2017 Veterinary Evidence knowledge summary found only two directly relevant studies, with conflicting findings; neither found reduced GDV risk from raised feeding. The summary identifies floor feeding as the cautious choice for at-risk dogs in the absence of stronger evidence.

One study summarized by Buckley reported an association between raised feeding and increased GDV risk in large and giant breeds, but observational evidence does not prove that elevation causes GDV. Do not use an elevated bowl as a bloat-prevention measure. If your dog is at risk or has a diagnosed neck, back, swallowing, or other medical condition, discuss feeding position with your veterinarian.

Not necessarily. The evidence here does not establish a general health benefit from elevation. If an older dog has mobility, swallowing, or other health concerns, discuss bowl height with the treating veterinarian.

Which bowl material is easiest to clean?

The American Kennel Club describes stainless steel as durable and easy to clean. Still, check the exact product’s care instructions: a dishwasher-safe bowl does not mean its stand or other parts can go in the dishwasher.

Is a slow-feeder bowl the same as an elevated bowl?

No. A slow feeder uses ridges or another design to slow eating, while an elevated feeder raises the bowl. The American Kennel Club describes slow-feed bowls as an eating-speed aid; the research here does not establish that either format prevents GDV.

The bottom line

Choose among these candidates based on practical fit—such as spill containment, bowl material, single- or double-bowl format, or portability—not on a promised health benefit. Confirm current product details and care instructions, size the bowl to your dog, and consult your veterinarian before using an elevated feeder for a medical reason or for a dog at risk of GDV.
