Rock Solid Fundraising: Strengthening Your Financial Foothold is a Best Friends Animal Society webinar and town hall for animal-welfare organizations. Its documented context is the financial strain shelters and other lifesaving groups faced during the COVID-19 disruption—not a pet product, fundraising platform, or general-purpose book.
What is Rock Solid Fundraising?
Best Friends Animal Society lists “Rock Solid Fundraising: Strengthening Your Financial Foothold” in its Network webinars and videos catalog. Best Friends later described the town hall as part of its support for animal-welfare groups dealing with pandemic-era financial pressure, including the cancellation of in-person fundraising events.
The title can refer to unrelated books, businesses, or events. Use the full title and Best Friends’ name to identify this webinar; a book called Nonprofit Fundraising Hacks: Practical Psychological Tactics and Strategies is not established as webinar material.
What is known about its focus?
Best Friends’ retrospective places the town hall among efforts to help animal-welfare organizations stay financially solvent during the COVID-19 disruption. The concern was practical: shelters still had operating costs even as familiar in-person fundraising opportunities were interrupted. Best Friends’ editorial retrospective put it this way: “Covering the costs of running a shelter or a nonprofit dedicated to lifesaving is always top of mind, but it was a source of much stress for groups this year.”

It is therefore not possible to reliably say which fundraising methods the webinar taught or how much time it devoted to each.
How does the webinar relate to other Best Friends resources?
During the town hall, Trish Tolbert introduced Best Friends’ Fundraising Fundamentals e-course, according to the organization’s retrospective. That connection does not mean the webinar and course are the same resource or that they share a syllabus.
Best Friends also directed readers to a related podcast and fundraising articles. Those companion materials discuss topics such as asking donors, expressing gratitude, personal connection, and stewardship. They provide useful organizational context, but they should not be treated as verified quotations or lessons from the webinar itself. Current access to the recording and related resources is not established by the historical coverage.
What did pandemic-era giving figures show?
In a 2020 Best Friends article summarizing Women’s Philanthropy Institute findings, 56% of American households gave to charity in 2020, and one-third gave directly to charitable organizations, individuals, or businesses. These are historical, pandemic-era figures—not estimates of current giving or a forecast for any particular shelter.

What should a shelter take away?
The webinar’s documented value is as an educational resource created in response to a specific period of financial disruption. The related Best Friends material points toward maintaining donor relationships and communicating with supporters, but the available sources do not prove that the town hall prescribed a particular campaign plan, platform, budget, or fundraising result.
For a shelter applying those broad ideas today, the practical questions are local: which supporters it can reach, what staff time a campaign requires, how it will thank and update donors, and whether any online service fits its eligibility, cost, payment, and reporting needs. Those are implementation considerations, not features or endorsements established for this webinar.

No central physical product or required platform is substantiated. Online campaign services and fundraising books may be adjacent resources, but the sources do not identify any as required, endorsed, or integral to Best Friends’ webinar. A separate Best Friends feature discussed online giving services; that does not establish a partnership with or endorsement by any provider.
