These meals may suit a cat as a topper or occasional addition, but use the package’s feeding statement and your veterinarian’s advice—not marketing language—to decide how they fit your cat’s diet.
Are Portland Pet Food Company cat meals suitable as everyday food?
Do not assume they can replace your cat’s regular food. The manufacturer’s variety-pack listing labels the meals for “intermittent or supplemental feeding,” and Cats.com also describes them as supplemental. The company FAQ says it chooses not to supplement its foods and labels them as treats, toppers, or supplemental meals. The sources here do not establish these recipes as a complete diet.
The product page suggests serving the meals as a topper, mixing them with other food, or using them in rotation. That serving language does not change the feeding designation. Choose based on your cat’s preference and tolerance, the protein source you want to offer, and your intended use for a supplemental food. The two listed recipes share several ingredients, so compare the full package labels if your cat avoids a particular ingredient or has dietary restrictions. Neither recipe can be called medically suitable for a specific condition on the evidence here; ask your veterinarian before adding one to a therapeutic or restricted diet.
