The company says it found no quality or food-safety issues and no evidence linking the reported illnesses to its foods. These are the manufacturer’s statements, not independent proof about the cause of any individual cat’s symptoms. The change is historical; it does not by itself explain a current refusal or illness.
On its UK safety page, accessed in 2026, Purina states: “No, there is no recall underway or planned for any Felix products.” That is Purina’s position on that page and for that market and access date, not a guarantee of recall status at a later date or elsewhere. Check current official notices for your country if you need to confirm a current recall.

What to do if your cat seems unwell
Reduced appetite, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhoea can have many causes. Symptoms that happen after eating a food do not establish that the food caused them. Contact your veterinary practice for guidance if your cat has concerning symptoms rather than trying to diagnose the cause from timing alone.
Purina says owners reporting an ill cat can provide product and batch details, veterinary information and clinical notes; the company says it reviews returned food and shares its findings with the owner.
