Tequila, an 11-year-old Golden Retriever, reportedly carried her own leash as she walked around a veterinary clinic—and came back when her dad called. The visit was for an ear check and an assessment of a recurring belly lump, according to her account caption.
Who is Tequila?
Tequila is identified as an 11-year-old Golden Retriever. DogTime credited the clip to the Instagram account @ourdailydoseoftequila, reporting on it on October 6, 2026.
What happens in the vet-clinic video?
DogTime describes Tequila carrying her leash while walking around the clinic, then returning when her dad calls her. The post’s overlay reads, “Just a senior golden retriever waiting for her turn at the vet and not listening to dad.” The playful framing suggests she is happy to do things her own way, though she does answer when called.
DogTime reported that the video had received more than 23,000 likes at the time of publication. That is a time-specific figure, not a current count.

Why was Tequila at the vet?
Her account caption says the visit was to have an ear checked for an infection and to assess a lump on her belly. The caption says the lump had been removed about five years earlier and had returned. Tequila’s family wrote: “Hopefully, the lump turns out to be nothing concerning. But because she’s now a senior dog, we’re taking the time to have it properly assessed.”
DogTime’s report does not give a diagnosis or any follow-up result for either concern. The clip is a glimpse of a clinic visit, not evidence of what the veterinary assessment found.
