Bleu, a Golden Retriever, became known for nudging a set of wind chimes with her nose and howling along. Her owner described it as an everyday routine, but the reports do not establish exactly why Bleu does it.
What does Bleu do with the wind chimes?
A June 10, 2019 report from WBRZ identifies Bleu as a Golden Retriever and describes her pushing the chimes with her nose before howling. WBRZ also reproduces her owner’s Facebook caption: “This is my baby, Bleu! She plays the wind chimes and sings to me every day!” That daily frequency is the owner’s description, not a measured count.
Why does Bleu howl?
There is no confirmed explanation. In a later account, Paws Planet quotes Bleu’s owner as saying, “I don’t know if she loves the sound or if she knows she can play it herself.” The available reports show the behavior, but they do not establish whether Bleu is responding to the chimes’ sound, enjoying making noise, or doing something else. “Singing along” is a playful description, not evidence that she intentionally matches a tune.
How did the chime-playing reportedly begin?
Later retellings say Bleu first encountered the chimes as a puppy after accidentally bumping into a set hanging low in the yard. Paws Planet places her at about four months old and says the chimes stayed low afterward; iHeartDogs also describes her head-butting the yard chimes and vocalizing. These are details from later accounts, rather than independently confirmed biographical records.

Which wind chimes did Bleu use?
The reports do not name a brand, model, material, or size, so Bleu’s exact chimes cannot be identified from them. Paws Planet says she ignored a newer, different chime, but that anecdote comes from the same kind of secondary retelling and does not identify what made the original set appealing. Any outdoor wind chimes are therefore a category reference, not a match to Bleu’s or an owner-endorsed product.

The owner’s name is inconsistent across the reports: WBRZ calls her Ana Boudreau, while later retellings use Ana Brown. Without a primary record resolving that difference, it is safest to refer to her as Bleu’s owner.
