A Newfoundland named Bjorn has turned a simple chore into a losing battle for his owner. According to DogTime’s October 5, 2026 report, every time she tries to put his water bucket away, Bjorn follows and takes another drink.
What happens in the clip
DogTime attributes the video to the Instagram account @bjorn.a.newfie. It says the scene is set outdoors in Reno, Nevada. Bjorn’s owner, identified as Obaven, is trying to carry the bucket back to its spot. Bjorn trails her and keeps drinking from the bucket as she lifts and moves it. By the end, DogTime says, she is soaked.
Those details come from DogTime’s description. The original Instagram post wasn’t independently viewed, so its posting date, availability and full context aren’t confirmed here.

DogTime quotes Obaven narrating her predicament, and the lines carry much of the joke:

Why does he keep drinking?
The report treats it as comic interference with an ordinary chore: the bucket moves, and Bjorn follows for more sips. It offers no explanation of his motive, and no vet or behavior expert is quoted. The clip is best read as a funny moment, not as evidence of a behavior problem or a health issue. A dog that is suddenly drinking far more than usual is a different matter, and that is worth raising with a veterinarian.
