The likely match for this pet-of-the-week feature is Roxy, a five-year-old Lab mix at Women’s Animal Center in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania. A June 12, 2026, Patch feature describes her as nervous at first but affectionate once she has time to relax. The match is likely rather than confirmed because the headline does not identify the shelter or dog.
What the feature says about Roxy
In its June 12, 2026, feature, Patch described Roxy as needing patience and kindness while she settles in. The article put it this way: “At first, Roxy can be a little nervous and may take a moment to warm up, but all she really needs is a little patience and kindness to feel safe.” This is the feature’s description, not an independent behavioral assessment.
The same feature says Roxy becomes affectionate and enjoys attention after she relaxes. That account suggests giving her time to become comfortable rather than expecting her to warm up immediately.
Walks, other pets and children
The feature reports that Roxy enjoys walks and was open to meeting other pets and children of any age. Those are time-bound descriptions from the article, not a guarantee that she will be compatible with a specific animal, child, or household. Anyone considering adoption should discuss their circumstances with the shelter and ask what introductions are appropriate.
