Leave the unit powered on overnight
The manual advises leaving the unit plugged in and powered on overnight. If the rake does not cycle, large clumps can form, and those clumps can interfere with later operation. This is the most practical habit that protects the mechanism.

Troubleshooting an obstruction
- Confirm the unit is stopped before reaching in. The manual specifies clearing obstructions only with the unit stopped.
- Check the rake safety door for debris or a lodged clump.
- Remove the obstruction by hand, then restart the unit and watch one full cycle to confirm the rake moves freely.
- If the rake still stalls, stop using the unit and check whether the litter level is too high or whether large clumps have built up. Repeated stalling is a reason to contact the manufacturer rather than forcing the mechanism.

The retailer listing says the package includes six waste compartment bags and a carbon filter. The manual refers to no-touch waste bags and activated-carbon filters. These are the expected recurring purchases. If you buy third-party bags or filters, check the dimensions and compatibility against your model before ordering, because the manual does not establish that every alternative will fit correctly.
