Its product pages state that the recipes are formulated to meet AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages. That is the manufacturer’s own formulation statement, not an independent audit. The most useful way to judge the line is to compare the recipe, the format, the calories per stated unit, the preparation work each format requires, and the bacterial risks that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) associates with raw pet food in general.
What Raw Dynamic sells
The brand’s official pages list chicken, beef, and rabbit recipes. Chicken and rabbit are offered in frozen format, and all three proteins appear in freeze-dried format, so the frozen line and the freeze-dried line do not mirror each other exactly. The table below uses the calorie values printed on each product page. Calories per kilogram are the only figure here that can be compared across formats. Per-cup figures depend on how dense the food is and on the cup size the brand used.
| Recipe | Format | Calories (kcal/kg) | Calories per stated cup | Product page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken | Frozen | 1,310 | 149 per 4-ounce cup | Frozen chicken |
| Chicken | Freeze-dried | 5,327 | 196 per cup | Freeze-dried chicken |
| Beef | Frozen | Not stated on the reviewed page | Not stated on the reviewed page | Frozen beef |
| Beef | Freeze-dried | 5,370 | 198 per cup | Freeze-dried beef |
| Rabbit | Frozen | 1,114 | 129 per 4-ounce cup | Frozen rabbit |
| Rabbit | Freeze-dried | 4,758 | 175 per cup | Freeze-dried rabbit |
The calorie values are product-page figures, recorded in 2026. They are not the output of a side-by-side nutrition study, so treat them as the brand’s stated values for each recipe.
Ingredients in each recipe
The ingredient panels share a common structure: a whole animal protein, ground bone, organ meat, a vegetable and kelp component, bone broth, and a standard set of supplements. The lists below reflect the product pages for each recipe. Formulas change, so the label on the package you buy is the authoritative version.

How to read the nutrition claims
The “formulated to meet AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages” statement is a formulation claim. It tells you the recipe was designed against the nutrient profile, and it is what the brand says on its pages. It does not tell you that a laboratory has analyzed each batch, that a feeding trial was run on these recipes, or that a particular cat will do well on them. If you want that level of assurance, ask the manufacturer for its nutrient analysis or feeding-trial documentation.

When comparing calories, use kcal/kg. Freeze-dried food has had most of its water removed, so a cup of it weighs far less than a cup of frozen food and carries more calories. A 4-ounce cup of frozen chicken and a cup of freeze-dried chicken are different amounts of food. Weigh portions in grams or ounces if you need to match intake between formats.
Preparing frozen and freeze-dried food
The two formats need different preparation, and that difference affects both convenience and how long the food sits out.

Frozen recipes
- Keep the product frozen and sealed until you are ready to serve it.
- Thaw the portion. The frozen chicken page says to thaw for at least 15 minutes, depending on room temperature, and also describes thawing a day’s portion overnight in a closed container in the refrigerator.
- Keep raw food separate from other foods in the kitchen.
- Wash hands, utensils, surfaces, bowls, and anything else that touches the food with hot soapy water.
- Discard any uneaten food after 30 minutes.
Freeze-dried recipes
- Add one-half cup of warm water for each cup of food. The freeze-dried chicken page gives this instruction; check the page for your specific recipe, since directions can vary.
- Let the food rehydrate before serving.
- Refrigerate any hydrated food that you do not serve right away. The brand says hydrated food stays fresh for three days under refrigeration.
Freeze-dried food does not need thawing, but it does need water and time, and it creates a wet mixture that still has to be handled as raw food.
Raw-food safety
Raw Dynamic’s handling instructions are useful, but they do not remove the risk that comes with feeding raw food. FDA’s guidance on pet food and treats says that raw pet food is more likely than processed pet food to contain harmful bacteria, including Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. FDA identifies not feeding raw as the best way to prevent infection, and it gives additional handling precautions for people who choose raw food anyway. The agency’s safe-handling tips state: “FDA thinks that raw pet food poses significant health risks to both pets and pet owners.”

The FDA sample figures and their limits
In an FDA study conducted from October 2010 to July 2012, 15 of 196 raw pet-food samples tested positive for Salmonella, and 32 of 196 tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. These figures come from FDA’s raw pet-food guidance. They describe samples from that period across raw pet foods generally. They are not test results for Raw Dynamic products, and they are not a current rate for any brand.
What the available evidence does not establish
- Pathogen testing specific to Raw Dynamic products. The brand’s pages describe handling steps but do not report their own microbial results.
- Clinical benefits. No health outcomes for cats fed Raw Dynamic are documented in the sources behind this article.
- Independent palatability results. Whether cats prefer one protein or format is not established by independent testing here.
- Digestibility or safety rankings by protein. The chicken, beef, and rabbit recipes cannot be ranked on those grounds with the evidence available.
- Nutrient analysis or feeding-trial results for individual recipes.
Other published reviews
Cats.com publishes its own Raw Dynamic cat food review. Its description says the review covers the brand’s background, processes, nutrition, ingredients, appearance, consistency, and cat reactions. That is a separate publisher’s assessment, and it does not replace the product pages, the package label, or FDA’s guidance. Read it for its own methods and any feeding observations it reports.

Who this line suits
Raw Dynamic is most straightforward to evaluate when you already plan to feed raw and want a choice between formats. Consider the following before buying:
- Choose frozen if you have freezer space and can handle thawing each day’s portion. Choose freeze-dried if you want shelf-stable storage and can rehydrate portions in advance.
- Compare recipes by calories per kilogram and by portion weight, not by cup.
- Confirm the current package label, since ingredient panels and directions can change.
- Set up a separate prep area and cleaning routine before the first meal, not after.
- Be more cautious in homes with young children, older adults, pregnant people, or anyone with a weakened immune system. FDA’s guidance on raw pet food applies to every household member, not only the cat.
If those points work for your household, the product pages give you enough detail to compare recipes. If they do not, FDA’s advice to avoid feeding raw is the most protective option.
