About the Pampa Horse

The Pampa Horse is a Brazilian breed used for riding, sport and work. It combines the conformation of gaited Brazilian horses with a pinto pattern of white and dark coat colors. Its development drew on spotted horses from the Mangalarga Marchador, Campolina and Brazilian crossbred horses, among others. The Pampa is a color breed: only pinto horses can be registered. It is not reported in the DAD-IS database of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and is not among the thirteen horse breeds recognized as Brazilian by the national agricultural research organization, Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária. These details distinguish the breed by its uses, gaited background and registration color requirement.
