Overview

Seglo brings booking, pet and business operations together across web, iOS and Android. Its grooming-aware scheduling and care-cycle tools are more compelling for businesses managing repeat visits and resource-dependent appointments than for operators who only need a basic calendar. The free plan keeps core tools accessible to one person at one location, but paid tiers are where payment features and room for a team begin.

Key features

Scheduling can account for grooming steps, staff skills and equipment such as baths, tables and dryers. That can help a business avoid treating every appointment as interchangeable, though it does not remove the need to manage real-world availability. Grooming Care tracks care cycles, suggests the next groom and can book automatically from a pet’s cycle, making it useful for businesses built around repeat customers.

Customer tools include email booking reminders, photo messaging and automatic Google review requests. SMS reminders are paid, so businesses that rely on texts should budget beyond the base plan. Paid Business plans add online payments and Tap to Pay on iPhone; payment-processing fees remain separate. Recurring appointments and staff scheduling support ongoing salon operations.

The optional AI Receptionist answers routine booking calls based on the business’s services and availability, and can pass judgement-heavy questions to staff. It costs A$149.00 AUD per month, with call usage charged separately at A$0.40 per inbound AI-call minute and A$0.70 per outbound minute, excluding GST. Seglo also offers a separate Phone plan with two devices included; extra devices cost A$29/month + GST, there is a one-time A$149 setup fee + GST, and standard Australian calls, SMS and MMS are subject to fair use.

Scale includes Xero two-way sync. Seglo says it uses encryption, role-based access, audit logging and multi-factor authentication, complies with Australia’s Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, and does not sell personal information. Data may be processed or stored in Australia, Singapore, the United States or other locations used by service providers. Help is available by live chat and email; email support is during Australian business hours, with an intended response within two business days.

Pricing

Seglo is freemium, with paid plans from 49.00 AUD per month and a 14-day trial. The Free plan has no monthly fee and covers one person at one location, with online booking, pet records, rostering, pay calculation and commission. It is a useful entry point for a solo groomer, but the single-seat cap makes it unsuitable for a team.

Starter costs 49.00 AUD per month and supports 1–3 people at one location, with a $10 monthly credit, Grooming Care, online payments and Tap to Pay. It suits a small shop ready to take payments, although the one-location cap remains. Growth is 99.00 AUD per month for 4–6 people at one location, a $25 monthly credit, intake and consent forms, leave management and timesheets. This is the more appropriate step for a growing team that needs staff administration, but it does not expand location capacity.

Scale costs 199.00 AUD per month for 7–15 people and unlimited locations, with a $50 monthly credit, automatic gap filling and Xero two-way sync. Enterprise costs 349.00 AUD per month for 16–30 people and unlimited locations, a $100 monthly credit and priority support with a four-hour response. These tiers suit multi-location or larger operations; Enterprise is the only stated tier with that priority response commitment.

Seglo Phone is 79.00 AUD per month, billed month to month once the number goes live, with two devices included and setup and extra-device charges on top. AI Receptionist is 149.00 AUD per month, billed monthly, with usage charges in addition. These add-ons are best evaluated against expected call volume and device needs rather than treated as all-in prices.

Platforms

Seglo supports Android, iOS and web. It lists an Appointments app for iPhone and Android, a Business app for iPad, and a Phone app for iPhone and Android, giving businesses mobile options for appointments and phone operations alongside web access.

Who it's for

Seglo is aimed at commercial grooming operations, including registered sole traders, partnerships and companies. A solo operator can begin on Free; small teams can move to Starter or Growth as seats and workflows demand. Businesses with several locations or larger staff counts have Scale and Enterprise, while operators needing only a simple appointment calendar may not benefit enough from its broader grooming and business features.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scheduling can factor in grooming steps, skills and equipment, which is relevant to salons coordinating resource-dependent work.
Pros: Grooming Care links pet cycles to suggested and automatic repeat bookings, supporting recurring care.
Pros: A no-fee plan includes booking, records and basic staff tools for one person at one location.
Cons: Free is capped at one person and one location, and paid team capacity is tiered by seat count.
Cons: SMS reminders are paid and payment processing fees are separate, so advertised plan prices do not cover every transaction or communication cost.
Cons: AI Receptionist and Phone involve usage, setup or device charges beyond their monthly fees.

Alternatives

Compare Pet grooming software options if you want to assess the broader category. GroomWork is worth considering for a solo groomer who wants a free plan capped at 40 monthly appointments or a $24.00 USD monthly Solo plan with unlimited appointments. DaySmart Pet is an alternative if you prefer a $29.00 USD monthly Basic plan with payments, one user and monthly messaging allowances, or need its listed desktop platforms.

Pawfinity may suit a business looking for its Royal Package at $100.00 USD per month billed annually, with unlimited calendars, appointments and employee logins. Groomer.io is another paid option, with a listed Software plan for $99.00 USD per month and a limited-time $79/month storefront or van offer. GrooMore offers a $49.00 USD monthly Standard Salon Grooming plan for one location and three staff, with 400 SMS and unlimited appointments, clients and pets.

Talopet is an alternative with a $99.00 USD monthly Starter plan that includes 350 SMS credits, 3,000 email credits, unlimited staff, client management and online booking. PawScheduler may appeal to businesses seeking a free plan with up to 50 monthly appointments, unlimited clients and pet profiles, and up to five services. MoeGo offers a $49.00 USD monthly Basic plan with unlimited clients, pets, appointments and devices for up to one member.

Verdict

Seglo is a strong fit for commercial groomers who need scheduling to reflect grooming resources and want pet-care cycles connected to repeat bookings. Its free plan makes a low-commitment start possible, and its paid tiers add team and multi-location capacity. Look elsewhere if SMS, processing, AI-call or phone costs need to be bundled into a predictable base price, or if a solo operation needs more than one seat without stepping up plans.
