The reported figure of 140 dogs available for adoption at Dogs’ Refuge Home is a snapshot, not a verified live count: the home’s official pages show available dogs but do not publish a dated total. Check the current listings before making plans. The Refuge is at 30 Lemnos Street, Shenton Park, WA 6008.
Check current dogs and visiting details
Dogs’ Refuge Home lists example dogs and provides an adoption pathway, but availability changes as dogs find homes or become available. Its homepage does not state a dated total, so the headline figure of 140 should not be treated as the current number. Browse the Refuge’s official website for live profiles before visiting.
The Refuge says visitors can attend from 11am to 4pm, seven days a week, except some public holidays. Adoption interviews finish at 3pm. Confirm the current hours with the Refuge before travelling.
Choose for household fit, not just appearance
Profiles can help you assess a dog’s age, size, resident-pet compatibility, suitability around children, exercise needs and behavioural notes where those details are listed. The Refuge advises considering your home, lifestyle and the behaviours you are prepared to manage; a dog’s background may be unknown, and not every dog suits every household. Use the adoption information and dog profiles to identify dogs worth meeting.

What to expect when adopting a puppy
Puppies stay in foster homes until they are ready for adoption. The Refuge promotes them through its social channels ahead of scheduled meet-and-greet weekends, and applicants complete an adoption questionnaire. A puppy may have received only its first vaccination while in care, so you may need to arrange the remaining vaccinations with your veterinarian.
Plan for close supervision, substantial time and early, safe socialisation. A puppy’s care demands can be difficult to balance with work or other commitments, so consider your capacity before applying.
