Albert, Waldo and Winston now live with adopter Jennifer Nann in Los Angeles, where they have two pig cottages, room to roam and each other for company. Their move began at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, after an unexpected litter grew into a family of three pigs ready for a new home.
How Waldo and Winston came into the world
Delilah, a Vietnamese potbellied pig, arrived at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary with Brooke and Albert after coming from a rescue group. Caregivers later discovered that Delilah was pregnant. Five days after that discovery, she gave birth to Waldo, Winston, Magnolia and Josie.
Albert was part of the pigs’ story from the beginning: he had arrived at the sanctuary alongside Delilah. Waldo and Winston were two of Delilah’s piglets, and the three would eventually leave together.
Why Jennifer adopted all three
Jennifer Nann already knew Best Friends through adopting goats from the organization and staying in touch. She first planned to adopt Waldo and Winston. Then she decided Albert should come, too.

Before setting out to collect them, Jennifer measured her SUV to make sure three crates would fit. She recalled that the pigs handled the journey calmly: “They were so good on the car ride,” she says, laughing. “Surprisingly quiet and easygoing.”
What their new home is like
Caregivers built two custom pig cottages for the trio’s home in Los Angeles. The pigs can root and roam in their yard, and Jennifer says they sleep together, choosing a different cottage from night to night: “They all sleep together and pick a house each night.”

Fresh fruits and vegetables are part of the household scene, with watermelon singled out as a favorite. These details describe Albert, Waldo and Winston’s home; they are not a general care guide or a recommendation about what every pig should eat.

Jennifer describes the pigs’ excitement when they see her as an exuberant dash across the yard: “They just get so excited to see you — like dust in the wind, full force running right at you,” she says.

Winston had his own memorable habits at the sanctuary. He was known for nibbling shoelaces and, after splashing in the pool, flopping over for belly rubs. Together, the small details make this more than a story about three pigs finding a place to stay: it is the story of Albert, Waldo and Winston moving into a home as a trio.
