Its product pages provide ingredient lists, selected typical nutrient values and feeding directions, but those declarations are not independent testing. The key decision is whether the recipe and its raw-food handling requirements fit your cat and household—and whether you are comfortable relying on the manufacturer’s “complete” designation.
What is Nutriment cat food?
Nutriment’s cat range includes adult frozen raw food in 500 g trays, including beef, chicken and lamb, as well as 175 g single-serve dinners such as beef and chicken. The company lists meat, bone, offal and oils in its recipes and labels cited recipes as complete foods suitable for all breeds. Those are Nutriment’s claims; the available information does not independently verify the formulas or establish that they have been assessed against FEDIAF guidelines for complete and complementary pet foods.
For a cat’s main diet, CDC advises looking for “complete and balanced” labeling and discussing raw food with a veterinarian. FEDIAF publishes nutritional guidelines, but a guideline’s existence is not evidence that a particular product has been evaluated against it.
How do the beef and chicken recipes compare?
The product pages offer a useful ingredient-level comparison, but their typical analysis figures are label declarations on an as-fed basis, not independent laboratory results. The figures below are those published on Nutriment’s cited recipe pages.

These disclosures are not identical: the beef page gives a taurine figure, while the chicken page gives a calcium-to-phosphorus ratio. Do not treat a value omitted from a page as zero or assume it is the same across recipes. Check the current product page and pack for the specific food you intend to buy.
Is Nutriment complete cat food?
Nutriment describes the cited recipes as complete foods. That tells you how the manufacturer intends them to be fed, but it is not independent confirmation of nutritional adequacy. The product declarations summarized here have not been independently analyzed, and no assessment against FEDIAF guidelines was established. If you want to feed a raw diet as your cat’s main food, ask your veterinarian to review the specific recipe and your cat’s needs rather than relying on the word “complete” alone.

How much should you feed?
Nutriment’s general guidance says adult cats should receive 2–3% of ideal body weight daily. Its general page gives puppies and kittens 4–6%, while some recipe pages give kittens 5–6% of growing body weight until fully grown. The kitten recommendations therefore differ by page; they are not one consistent universal ration.
- Use the feeding directions on the current pack or the page for the exact recipe you are feeding.
- Ask your veterinarian to help set an individual amount, especially for a growing kitten or a cat with health or weight concerns.
- Do not turn a percentage into a personalized feeding plan without accounting for the individual cat and the product’s specific instructions.
How practical is frozen raw food?
Raw frozen food requires freezer space and planning ahead for safe thawing. Nutriment says to keep recipes frozen, thaw them fully in the refrigerator and use them within 3–4 days after thawing. Its beef page says frozen storage can be up to 12 months, subject to the pack’s best-before date. Follow the current pack instructions if they differ.

Nutriment’s cited pages state a 5 kg minimum for direct UK home delivery and suggest stockists as an alternative. Delivery terms and local stockist availability can change, so check them before ordering. A 500 g tray may suit a household that can portion and store food; the 175 g single-serve format may be more convenient for some feeding routines, but the best fit depends on your cat’s intake and freezer capacity.
What are the raw-food safety considerations?
Raw food can expose people and pets to harmful bacteria. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns: “Owners who feed their pet a raw diet may have a higher risk of getting infected with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.” In historical FDA sampling from 2014, 15 of 196 raw dog and cat food samples (7.7%) tested positive for Salmonella, and 32 of 196 (16.3%) tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. These old results are not prevalence estimates for current Nutriment products and do not show that Nutriment was tested or implicated.

The UK Government reported that the Food Standards Agency obtained 103 raw cat-food samples from retail and online purchases between March 2023 and February 2024. The surfaced notice emphasizes safe handling and storage but does not provide a pathogen-positive rate; the sample count alone cannot establish one. Cornell’s Feline Health Center does not recommend raw diets, citing the possibility of viable pathogens and no clear health benefit.
- Consider who handles the food and whether anyone in the household may be especially vulnerable to foodborne illness.
- Follow the manufacturer’s storage and thawing directions, and use good hygiene when handling raw food and cleaning feeding equipment.
- Discuss the choice with your veterinarian, including both nutritional suitability and household risk.
Who might consider Nutriment—and who may prefer another format?
Nutriment may be worth considering if you are specifically seeking frozen raw food, want recipe-level ingredient declarations, have suitable freezer space and can manage refrigerator thawing and prompt use. The listed recipes vary in protein sources and in which nutrition details they disclose, so compare the exact pack rather than treating the range as interchangeable.

A cooked or otherwise non-raw food may be a better fit if raw handling is not acceptable in your household, or if freezer storage and thawing are impractical. This is a practical distinction, not a claim that one feeding approach is healthier for every cat. Ask your veterinarian for advice tailored to your animal.
