Planfy is a hosted booking platform for businesses such as pet groomers, salons and opticians. It combines online appointments, staff calendars, reminders, recalls, forms, payments and video consultations. Customers can book through a website or social channels. Three paid plans add booking capacity, calendars, SMS credits, support levels and mobile-app options.

What Planfy does

Planfy lets a business publish real-time availability and take appointments online. Customers can book from a website, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, while staff manage services, schedules and individual calendars.

It also handles email and SMS reminders, booking changes, recalls, forms, deposits, full payments and video consultations. Pet groomers are among the example users named in its documentation.

Getting started

Planfy offers a free trial without asking for card details. A business can upgrade, downgrade or cancel through the Business Portal without a long contract.

The service is hosted and runs on computers, tablets and phones. Its guide library covers company setup, calendars, appointments, payments, booking rules, social bookings and Google Calendar.

Strengths

Booking can stay open around the clock, with availability updated as appointments change. QR codes can open that availability after business hours, and widgets can be added as popups, inline elements, dedicated pages or profile pages.

Forms can hold customer and appointment details and accept files such as scans or prescriptions. Recall campaigns work by email, SMS or letter and track conversions. Online and in-person payments can include deposits.

Google Calendar synchronization works both ways and anonymizes imported events. Planfy says it supports more than 24 languages, and the Ultimate plan includes a tailored mobile progressive web app.

Catches

There is no free plan. Solo allows one staff calendar and 250 online bookings; Team allows 10 calendars and 1,500 bookings. Only Ultimate removes the online-booking cap, while its calendar limit is 50.

SMS allowances depend on the plan, and extra credits cost £0.05 each after the allowance; the USD pricing page lists $0.07 per credit. Support also changes by tier, from live chat to phone and then direct developer support.

The official API is still in development, and the reviewed pages describe no self-hosting option. Data may be stored with providers outside the EEA, so check whether that arrangement suits your business.

Pricing

Solo costs £17 a month, excluding VAT. It includes 250 online bookings, one staff calendar, 50 SMS credits, recalls, a self-service widget, selected social bookings, Google Calendar sync and live chat.

Team costs £37 a month, excluding VAT. It raises capacity to 1,500 bookings and 10 calendars, and adds 250 SMS credits, five resources, advanced forms, payments and deposits, reports, permissions, marketing tools and phone support.

Ultimate costs £97 a month, excluding VAT. It includes unlimited online bookings, 50 calendars, 750 SMS credits, 50 resources, bespoke forms, customization, dynamic pricing, a removed Planfy badge, developer support and a tailored mobile progressive web app. The free trial applies before choosing a paid plan.

Who should skip Planfy

A business needing a public API now, self-hosting or more than 50 staff calendars should look elsewhere. Practices that need no-cost software should also skip it because every plan is paid.

Planfy verdict

Planfy suits a service business that wants one hosted place for online booking, schedules, reminders, forms and payments. Its tiered limits make the plan choice important, especially for teams with many calendars or frequent bookings.

Choose it when social booking, recalls, deposits or video appointments matter. Pass if your workflow depends on an available API, self-hosting or a free tier.

Verdict

Planfy is a sensible fit for appointment-led businesses that want customers to book from several channels and receive automatic reminders. Pet groomers and similar services can also use recalls, forms, deposits and video calls in the same system. The main buying decision is scale: calendar and booking ceilings differ sharply between plans, while SMS usage can add charges. Teams that need deep custom integrations should wait for the public API or choose another product. Businesses with strict data-location rules should review the storage details before signing up.
