Meet Wally, the affectionate cat
Coral Springs Talk reported on October 3, 2026, that Wally is a 2-year-old, 10-pound domestic shorthair. He is described as friendly and affectionate, enjoying petting, chin scratches and lickable treats. The report says he was brought to the shelter after being abandoned at a Walmart in Pompano Beach.
Meet Hugo, the senior dog
Hugo is reported to be an 11-year-old, 22-pound Manchester terrier mix. He is housebroken and enjoys people and other dogs, but needs a home without cats. The report says he arrived with nine other dogs after his owner died and was returned to the shelter following a brief adoption.

Adoption details and how to check availability
The October 3 report says both animals are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. It also reports waived adoption fees and a $25 county pet registration fee. These details, along with availability and shelter hours, may change; confirm them directly with Broward County Animal Care before traveling.
