Is CBD safe for cats?
There is no FDA-approved cannabis product for animals in the United States. The FDA states: “FDA has not approved cannabis for any use in animals, and the agency cannot ensure the safety or effectiveness of these products.” It advises pet owners to talk with a veterinarian about appropriate treatment options. The agency also says there are no approved food-additive petitions or AAFCO Official Publication ingredient definitions for hemp-derived substances in animal food, and that it is unaware of relevant GRAS conclusions.

What CBD do vets recommend for cats?
There is no universal veterinary recommendation established by the available sources.
