A woman was arrested after allegedly leaving her dog tied to a baggage sizer at the JetBlue counter at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on February 2, 2026, according to a Fox News report relaying information from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. Police reportedly said the airline denied her a boarding pass because required online service-animal forms were incomplete. The reported charges are allegations, not a finding of guilt.
What reportedly happened at the airport?
Fox News reported that LVMPD responded after receiving reports of a dog left at the JetBlue counter. The report said police-released footage showed the woman approach the counter with the dog, walk away, and leave the dog’s leash tied to a metal carry-on baggage sizer.
According to the report’s account of LVMPD’s explanation, airline staff told the owner she had not completed online forms required to travel with the dog as a service animal and denied her a boarding pass. Police reportedly said she then left the dog and went toward the departure gate. Officers later escorted her back through the security checkpoint.
The report said the woman was arrested on charges of animal abandonment and resisting arrest. The available reporting does not establish a conviction or final court outcome.
