Two options with relevant manufacturer guidance are the PetSafe Wall Entry Pet Door and Endura Flap Wall Mount Pet Door. Neither is a universal fit: their tunnel limits, flap dimensions, and installation instructions differ, so measure before choosing.
What to look for in a dog door for a stucco wall
Stucco describes the exterior finish, not the whole wall. Behind it may be different layers and substrates, so the same cutting approach will not suit every home. Choose a model with manufacturer documentation for wall installation, and follow the instructions for the exact model and size.
- Wall depth: Measure the complete finished wall at the planned opening and compare it with the model’s tunnel range.
- Dog fit: Check the clear flap dimensions against your dog’s measurements. Breed and weight alone do not establish whether a dog can pass comfortably.
- Weather and effort: More insulation can mean more resistance when pushing through the flap.
- Installation conditions: The opening must avoid framing, wiring, and plumbing, and the frame and tunnel need appropriate sealing.
PetSafe’s Wall Entry support materials explicitly include stucco among compatible wall types. Endura Flap’s wall-installation guide specifically mentions stucco when instructing installers to choose a cutting tool suited to the exterior material. These references support considering both products, but do not make either suitable for every wall assembly.

Measure your dog and the usable opening
Measure the dog, not the breed label
For PetSafe’s Wall Entry, follow its guide: measure your dog’s standing chest width and chest height, then compare both measurements with the manufacturer’s size chart. If the two measurements point to different sizes, PetSafe advises choosing the larger one. In a home with more than one dog, size for the largest dog that will use the opening.

For Endura Flap, compare the dog’s height with the manufacturer’s recommended pet-height range and check the flap dimensions. A recommended height range is not a substitute for ensuring your particular dog can pass through the clear opening.
Do not mistake the flap for the cutout
The opening cut into the wall is larger than the flap. Endura Flap publishes these as separate dimensions; use the rough-opening measurement for layout, not the flap size. Its chart gives the following measurements for the listed Wall Mount sizes. Check the selected configuration’s current product details before marking a wall.

Match the tunnel to the finished wall thickness
Measure at the intended opening, including the wall’s finished layers. Do not assume two products’ stated depth ranges or extensions are interchangeable.

If the wall is thicker than the documented range, has an unusual build-up, or needs a nonstandard tunnel, verify the exact solution with the manufacturer or consider a qualified installer experienced with exterior wall penetrations and stucco repair.
Choose between insulation and easy passage
Endura Flap offers single- and double-flap configurations. The manufacturer describes the double flap’s dead-air space as providing more insulation, while requiring more effort from the pet. Its product guidance favors single flaps for elderly, young, or small pets that may find a heavier passage difficult.

PetSafe describes its Wall Entry as a dual-flap system intended to resist the elements. Compare the flap arrangement with your climate, exposure, and dog’s ability to push through it; the available documentation does not establish a universal performance ranking between the two products.

Wall installation involves more than cutting the exterior finish. PetSafe’s instructions call for locating studs, checking for electrical and plumbing fixtures, marking the dog’s shoulder height, and using the product templates to align the interior and exterior openings. The instructions list tools including a framing square, jigsaw, drill, level, tape measure, pencil, and stud finder, as well as basic protective equipment.

- Check the location: Use a stud finder and check for wiring and plumbing before committing to the opening. Follow the exact model instructions and account for the complete wall build-up.
- Set the opening height: PetSafe’s guide says to mark the dog’s shoulder height. Endura’s wall guide starts by setting its template about 3 inches above the pet’s height. Use only the placement method specified for your chosen model.
- Align the templates: Transfer the manufacturer’s layout carefully between the interior and exterior so the openings line up through the wall.
- Cut and fit to the model instructions: PetSafe describes cutting the interior opening and then the exterior opening, followed by fitting the frames. Endura says to choose a tool appropriate to the exterior material, including stucco; neither instruction is a universal cutting method for every stucco, lath, insulation, masonry, or cladding assembly.
- Seal the assembly: PetSafe instructs installers to caulk around the exterior frame. Endura directs silicone caulk at the interior frame/tunnel interface and telescoping tunnel seams. Attach a PetSafe extension tunnel before completing installation when one is required.
Endura labels its wall installation high difficulty and estimates approximately two hours in its instructions; that is the manufacturer’s estimate, not a promise for work through every stucco wall. If you cannot confidently identify framing and utilities, manage the wall layers, or seal the opening, use a qualified installer.
