But it gives no precise location or date, identifies no observer, and provides no measurement method or primary evidence. The sighting—and especially the animal’s reported size—therefore cannot be treated as independently confirmed.
What does the report actually claim?
Emily Carter’s Indian Defence Review article, published June 3, 2025, identifies the fish as a whale shark (Rhincodon typus) and describes it as approximately 60 feet long. The article attributes the report to Animals Around The Globe, but does not link to that underlying report.
Beyond saying the sighting was in the Pacific, the article does not say where or when it allegedly happened. It does not name a primary observer or explain how the animal’s length was measured. Without those details or supporting evidence, the 60-foot figure is an unverified claim in the article, not a documented measurement.
Does this establish a record for the largest fish ever recorded?
No. The headline calls the animal the “Largest Fish Ever Recorded,” but the article supplies no record comparison or evidence that would establish a world record. Its body describes the shark as one of the largest individuals documented in the region, yet gives no documentation to support that characterization either. The information presented is not enough to verify a record or even to assess the alleged individual’s size.
