Liam’s curiosity has taken him from shelter updates to road trips—and into the habit of opening doors. His family says the rescued tabby learned tricks, found inventive ways to get their attention, and even figured out how to slide open a balcony door.
How Liam found his family
Liam’s parents first came across him through updates from a local shelter. In the Cats.com story published June 12, 2025, author Katelynn Sobus reports that his mother recalled, “Everything was just perfect about him.”
The tricks Liam learned
Liam learned to shake hands, lie down, sit, and stand on his hind legs. Those tricks are one part of a story built around the everyday ways his family noticed his curiosity and connection with them.
How Liam asks for attention
When Liam wants his parents to notice him, he may stare at them or knock items off tables and shelves. The story also describes a less subtle early-morning routine: around four or five, Liam gently slaps their faces.
