Nigel SPCA is asking people who adopted an animal from the organisation to send a pet photo and a brief update for its Sunday Adoption Updates initiative. A local report says adopters can share updates about animals adopted recently or several years ago, using WhatsApp at 084 485 7020.
Who can take part
The invitation is for people who adopted an animal from Nigel SPCA. It includes both recent adopters and people whose pets joined their homes several years ago, according to Heidelberg Nigel Heraut’s report published on 5 October 2026.
What to send
- A photograph of the adopted pet.
- A brief update about how the pet is doing.
How to submit an update
The report lists WhatsApp as the submission channel: 084 485 7020. Contact Nigel SPCA to confirm the number before sending, as contact details may change. The report does not identify another submission method.
Why Nigel SPCA is collecting stories
The initiative is intended to celebrate animals that have found safe, loving homes and to show the positive impact of adoption. The report says Nigel SPCA hopes the stories will encourage other community members to adopt and give an animal a second chance; it does not report a measured effect.

It is designed with everyday practicality and lasting keepsake value in mind.
- EXTRA-LARGE CLEAN TOUCH INK PAD - The included ink pad is acid-free and pet-safe, capturing a clear stamp when your pet's paw is gently pressed onto standard paper or the four included cardstock cards. It is reusable three to five times. This is a feature that pet parents and gift shoppers consistently look for.
