RiverBender.com posted a video on October 5, 2026, titled “Hayner Library and Howl-O-Ween Pet Adoption Event.” It combines a library update with a preview of the 10th Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Adoption and Shelter Open House Event, a Halloween-themed adoption and shelter open house. The listing does not give the event’s date, place, or hours, so check those with an organizer before you go.
What is in the video
According to RiverBender’s description, the segment has two parts:
- Library news: Mary Cordes of Hayner Library talks about what is happening at the public library.
- Adoption event preview: Amy McGarr of Coldwell Banker Brown Realtors joins hosts John McNamara and Erika Pratte to discuss the 10th annual Howl-O-Ween event.
The “HowlOWeen” in the title is just an unhyphenated spelling. RiverBender writes it “Howl-O-Ween,” and that is the form to search for.

Do not assume the event is held at a Hayner Library branch. The video pairs a library guest with an event guest, but the listing does not say the library hosts the event. Mary Cordes appears for the library segment. Amy McGarr’s real-estate affiliation is listed, but the listing does not say whether her company sponsors or organizes the event.
Library context
Hayner Public Library’s KidsSpace page lists children’s programs on its October 2026 calendar. An EdGlenToday article from October 5, 2026, about Hayner’s Halloween-themed October programs quotes Director Mary Cordes: “the library’s aim is to provide a free space for people to come together, access information, and engage with the community.” Both sources describe the library’s general programming. Neither is an announcement of the adoption event, so neither confirms its logistics.
