To find affordable vaccines or wellness care for your dog or cat, start with official community veterinary clinic pages, local shelters, and municipal animal-services websites. Search by city, county, or ZIP code, then verify the clinic’s service area, eligibility rules, appointment process, current fees, and services for your pet before you travel. Low-cost programs are often local and may require an appointment or proof of eligibility.

Where to look for low-cost pet vaccines

Search online for your city or ZIP code alongside phrases such as “low-cost pet vaccines,” “community veterinary clinic,” “shelter vaccine clinic,” or “municipal animal services vaccines.” Prioritize official clinic, shelter, nonprofit, and local-government pages so you can check current requirements directly with the provider.

If you do not find a nearby subsidized clinic, broaden your search to humane societies, animal shelters, municipal animal services, veterinary schools, and nonprofit veterinary programs. These are places to check, not a guarantee that low-cost vaccines are available: services and eligibility vary by organization and location.

The ASPCA’s Community Medicine program is one example, with appointment-based services described for New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami. Its overview is not a nationwide directory, so use it to check those areas rather than assume the same clinics or rules apply elsewhere: ASPCA Community Medicine.

How to check whether a clinic is right for you

Before booking, confirm each of these details with the clinic’s current official page or by phone:

  • Service area: Does the clinic serve your ZIP code, neighborhood, or county?
  • Eligibility: Does it require local residency, proof of income, participation in a public-assistance program, or another qualification?
  • Access: Is care appointment-only, available at a walk-in event, or offered on limited mobile-clinic dates? ASPCA Community Medicine describes appointment-only services in its overview and Miami location information: overview and Miami locations.
  • Pet and services: Does the clinic see your pet’s species, and which vaccines, exams, and basic wellness services are currently available?
  • Total cost: Ask about the visit or exam fee, each vaccine, tests, medications, and any other charges. A published vaccine price may not include the rest of the visit.
  • Documents: Ask what to bring, such as proof of identity, residence, qualifying assistance, or prior vaccination records.

What eligibility and prices can look like

Rules and prices differ even between clinics in the same nonprofit network. The ASPCA’s South Bay clinic page lists service for cats and dogs, a qualifying ZIP-code area, and an annual household-income threshold of $50,000 or less. It lists physical exams and vaccinations as free for eligible clients, while some other services may have a fee. Check the clinic page for its service area and requirements: South Bay Community Veterinary Clinic.

Confirm the service and appointment before you go

A clinic that offers vaccines may not provide every vaccine or wellness service your pet needs. The ASPCA overview lists services for dogs and cats and examples of vaccine types, but individual locations may differ. Ask which vaccines are currently offered for your animal, whether an exam is required, and whether the clinic has appointments available.

ASPCA describes mobile services in its New York City and Los Angeles program information, while its Miami page directs visitors to the Liberty City clinic. The details can vary by location. Check the provider’s current location page for appointment instructions and any mobile-clinic schedule rather than assuming a service is available near you.

ASPCA announced that its Carson clinic opened on July 29, 2026, offering free and affordable basic and preventive care, including vaccinations, to dogs and cats. In its July 30, 2026 announcement, ASPCA said its Community Veterinary Clinics had collectively served more than 150,000 cats and dogs since 2019. The same announcement cited the organization’s estimate that more than 500,000 cats and dogs in Los Angeles County live with people in poverty who have little to no access to veterinary services. Those figures describe ASPCA’s program and estimate, not nationwide totals: ASPCA announcement about the Carson clinic.
