Many riders know the moment: you leave a family dinner early for the barn, or you spend a workday thinking about your horse. Horse Illustrated’s July/August 2025 feature by Jessica Shannon, “Battling Barn Time Guilt,” opens by addressing exactly this. Why the feature starts by naming the feeling

A practical way to work through it
