Almo Nature sells two plant-based cat litter textures: Grain Texture, which the company describes as clumping, and Soft Texture, a finer-grained option. The official product information describes their materials and pack sizes, but does not establish independent results for odor control, dust, tracking, clump strength, or value. Whether either is a good fit depends on your cat’s texture preference, your scooping routine, local availability, and the disposal rules where you live.
What is Almo Nature cat litter?
Almo Nature describes both variants as made from plant material recovered from food production. Its product information characterizes the material as a recycled vegetable product from the food industry and describes the litter as biodegradable and absorbent. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test findings. See Almo Nature’s product information for the company’s descriptions.

Almo Nature says its litters are designed for clumping and odor control, and describes Grain Texture as highly absorbent. The available product information does not include independent comparisons or establish performance for odor control, dust, tracking, clump durability, or how much litter households use. Treat those as questions to answer through the product label, retailer details, and your cat’s response rather than as proven advantages.
#1 Best Overall
- absorbent and clean: liquids are absorbed and remain trapped in a thin clump on the surface, leaving both the tray and the remaining litter clean
- eliminates smells: urine is absorbed instantly neutralizing bad odors.
- safe, natural and non-toxic the litter is produced using only vegetable fibers and it’s additive-free, so it’s safe for your cat and the whole family.

- environmentally friendly 100% vegetable and biodegradable, the litter is totally free of additives and toxic agents.
The “four times longer” claim
Almo Nature says Grain Texture lasts “around four times longer than traditional litter.” The product page does not give a comparison method, identify which traditional litter was used, or show that the claim applies across households and litter-box routines. It should be read as the manufacturer’s claim, not a general performance guarantee.
Annual consumption comparison
Almo Nature’s comparison page lists annual consumption figures of 120 kg for mineral litter, 60 kg for synthetic litter, 34 kg for Grain Texture, and 26 kg for Soft Texture. The page does not state its publication year or provide a calculation method or independent verification. These are company comparison figures, not established average use for every cat household. See Almo Nature’s litter comparison.

Which texture should you choose?
Consider Grain Texture if you want the clumping variant
Grain Texture is the option Almo Nature specifically presents as clumping. If you are changing from clay litter, compare the label’s scooping instructions with your current routine and monitor whether your cat accepts the material. The available sources do not establish how firm its clumps are or how easily they scoop.

Consider Soft Texture if a finer grain suits your cat
Almo Nature presents Soft Texture as the finer option, and its US page calls the grains ultra-fine and gentle on paws. Those are the company’s product descriptions, not evidence that every cat will prefer it. Check the exact product name and pack size because the US information uses pound sizes while the general page lists kilogram sizes.

- EXCEPTIONAL CLUMPING: Because our litter is made exclusively from corn and cassava, it’s naturally rich in starches. This results in dry, fast-forming, and firm clumps that you can trust to stay together while scooping and cleaning your litter box
- VIRTUALLY NO DUST: Our proprietary machinery removes dust at key points in the production process, resulting in a litter that protects cats from possible respiratory issues—and your home from a dusty mess
- OUTSTANDING ODOR CONTROL: Our proprietary formula instantly traps urine odor and prevents its build-up. And we never use fragrance, so there are no artificial scents that can irritate both cats and people
- SOFT ON PAWS: Our small-grain texture offers a gentle and smooth feel providing a comfortable digging experience — perfect for kittens, seniors, or cats with sensitive paws.
- DESIGNED FOR HEALTHIER CATS & HOMES: Made from corn and cassava with no added fragrances, dyes, or chemicals. Light color makes it easier to spot potential changes in the cat's urine, like the presence of blood.
How to assess value and practical fit
No current prices, local stock information, or independently verified usage rates are established here, so a reliable cost-per-month comparison cannot be calculated. When checking a listing, compare the price with the actual pack weight and assess how long a pack lasts in your home. Also consider:
- Whether your cat accepts the grain size and texture.
- How often you scoop and replace litter, following the product’s directions.
- Whether the package and product variant match the details on Almo Nature’s page for your market.
- Whether local retailers have the same pack size available consistently.
Almo Nature names Zooplus as a purchase route on its product information, but that does not confirm current stock in your region. Check the retailer’s live listing and the product label before buying.

- PREMIUM QUALITY: A combination of premium texture and granule size made with 100% bentonite clay for maximum clumping creates litter particles that are just the right size.
- LOW DUST: Ideal for cats and owners who suffer from allergies with a 99.9% dust-free and hypoallergenic litter formulation.
- HARD CLUMPING: Hard clumping medium grain clay helps prevent moisture from reaching the bottom of the tray and forms hard clumps that won't break down, making it easier to scoop.
- SUPERIOR ODOR CONTROL: Formulated for single or multi-cat households with natural ingredients to keep your home smelling clean and fresh between litter box cleanings.
- LOW TRACKING: A unique formulation of medium grain clay helps keep litter in the box where it belongs.
Can you flush or compost Almo Nature litter?
Disposal depends on the exact product instructions and local waste rules. Almo Nature describes organic-waste or compost disposal for its plant-based litters. Its US Soft Texture page also says household organic waste, toilet flushing, or home compost may be options where local regulations permit, and tells readers to check local rules before flushing. Do not assume that every variant can be flushed or composted in every location; follow the package and your local authority’s guidance.
