ANIfit is a German wet-food brand that builds its recipes around named animal ingredients. Its reviewed complete food, Fisch à la Mode, declares 99% meat and fish, and the independent review we checked rates the brand 8.0/10 overall, with its strongest marks for species appropriateness and recall history. The main drawback is price. Whether the food suits your cat depends less on the marketing than on three things you can check on the label: whether the exact pack is labelled as a complete diet for your cat’s life stage, how much it should eat, and whether a veterinarian sees any reason to adjust that plan.
What ANIfit is and which product this review covers
Cats.com identifies ANIfit as a German brand owned by Provital GmbH, based in Taufkirchen, Germany. The brand’s range includes wet foods, BARF and freeze-dried meals, snacks and supplements. This review focuses on one product, Fisch à la Mode, which the brand’s official product page describes as a mix of salmon, poultry and reindeer. Its product listing calls the recipe “Completely balanced cat food” and “For all life stages (cat).” Those are the manufacturer’s claims, and they should be checked against the package you actually buy.
Complete food or supplement?
Not every ANIfit product is meant to be a full diet. Cats.com describes Easy BARF Chicken Hearts as an addition to a BARF diet or a regular meal, which is a supplement role rather than a complete food. Before buying, confirm on the pack or product page that the item is labelled as complete cat food. A topper or treat can be a good addition to a cat’s diet, but it cannot replace a complete diet on its own.
Declared ingredients and composition
The brand’s product page lists the recipe ingredients by percentage. The listed animal ingredients total 99%, and the page separately notes that the remaining share is under 1% and rounds the total to 100%. The small remainder includes tomato powder, rose hip, calcium and salt.

|---|---|

| Salmon | 16% |
| Whiting | 16% |
| Chicken muscle meat | 31% |
| Beef liver | 11% |
| Reindeer muscle meat | 7% |
A high declared meat-and-fish share is a fact about the recipe’s composition, not proof of overall nutritional quality. Ingredient lists are ordered by weight, and wet, high-moisture ingredients can appear high on the list without showing how much of each nutrient they supply. The VCA Animal Hospitals guide “Deciphering Cat Food Labels” makes this point, although its label discussion centres on U.S. and Canadian rules, while ANIfit’s listing is a European product page.
Guaranteed analysis and nutrient values
The official page also lists analytical components. These are the manufacturer’s own figures, and they describe the food as sold.
| Component | Stated value (manufacturer) |
|---|---|
| Crude protein | 10% |
| Crude oils | 3% |
| Crude fibre | 0.3% |
| Crude ash | 2% |
| Moisture | 83% |
| Calcium | 0.38% |
| Phosphorus | 0.34% |
| Sodium | 0.4% |
| Copper | 5 mg/kg |
| Zinc | 36 mg/kg |
| Manganese | 5 mg/kg |
| Taurine | 600 mg/kg (official page) |
| Vitamin D3 | 100 IU/kg |
Taurine figures that do not match
The official page gives taurine as 600 mg/kg. A secondary review table gives taurine as 0.1%, which is a different presentation of the same nutrient. The two figures have not been reconciled by any source reviewed here, so ask the manufacturer to confirm the value if taurine matters for your decision.

Copper and the customer allegation
Cats.com quotes a Trustpilot reviewer who believes copper sulfate in canned food caused scratching in that reviewer’s animals. This is one owner’s allegation. It is not a verified finding, and no source reviewed here links copper in this food to any health effect. The product listing reviewed does not name the chemical form of the copper.
Is it a complete diet for your cat?
The adequacy statement is the most important line on any cat food label. VCA explains that it indicates whether a food is complete and balanced for a specified life stage. A manufacturer can support that statement in two ways: by formulating against recognised nutrient profiles, or by running a feeding trial. VCA notes that feeding trials are preferred but more costly and time-consuming.
What to look for on your pack
- The words “complete” or “complete and balanced” alongside the life stage (for example, adult, kitten, or all life stages).
- Whether the statement says it was substantiated by a feeding trial or by formulation. The brand’s page states the recipe is complete and suitable for all life stages but, in the sources reviewed, does not describe how that was substantiated.
- Whether the pack includes a guaranteed analysis. VCA notes that guaranteed analysis usually lists minimums and maximums rather than exact typical amounts, so ask the manufacturer for a typical analysis if you want to compare nutrient profiles.
Kittens, adults and seniors
The official page says the product may be used for kittens and senior cats. Those life-stage claims are the manufacturer’s. Cats with kidney, liver, heart or other medical conditions, and kittens or seniors with special needs, should have their diet reviewed by a veterinarian before a food change, regardless of what the label says.

How much to feed
The brand’s feeding ranges depend on body weight. The official page gives these daily amounts for a normal adult cat:
| Cat body weight | Stated daily amount (manufacturer guidance) |
|---|---|
| 2–3.5 kg | 100–200 g |
| 3.5–7 kg | 200–500 g |
| 7–14 kg | 500–800 g |
These ranges are averages, not individual calorie targets. VCA describes feeding guidelines on pet food labels as a suggested starting point, because they are based on averages and a variety of equations can produce them. Adjust portions by watching body condition over several weeks, and ask a veterinarian for an individual plan when a cat is overweight, underweight or has a health condition.

Cats.com estimates about 74 kcal per 100 g for this recipe, but labels it an estimate because it could not find calorie information on the manufacturer’s site. Use that figure only as a rough guide. Ask the manufacturer for the calorie content of the exact product you buy.

Independent reviews and owner experience
Cats.com
Cats.com gives ANIfit 8.0/10 overall. Its category scores are species appropriateness 9/10, ingredient quality 8/10, product variety 8/10, price 5/10, customer experience 8/10 and recall history 9/10. Those six category scores add up to 47 out of 60, not the 49 the review reports, so treat the overall rating as the reviewer’s own figure rather than a precise average. Cats.com’s scores are an editorial assessment using its own method, not a regulatory rating.
The review praises the recipe’s disclosed animal ingredients and calls the product expensive. It says customer comments were mostly found on the brand’s website and Trustpilot, mainly in German, and that the reviewer would have liked a wider range of reviews, including negative ones. Its statement that it found no recall indications online reflects its own search, which was limited by English-language visibility. It is not a guarantee that no recall has occurred.
Katzenkram.net
The German blog Katzenkram.net published an ANIfit review updated on 11 May 2026. Its author, Dominik Hollenbach, reports that five cats ate the classic line exclusively for six weeks. Four accepted it immediately, and one needed a gradual transition. The page discloses affiliate links and gives the food a 9.7/10 score. This is one reviewer’s trial and opinion, not a controlled study, and it does not establish a health effect.

Price, pack sizes and where to buy
The brand’s official shop listed Fisch à la Mode in six-tin packs on 7 October 2026. Prices include VAT and exclude shipping. Prices change, so check the live listing and your currency before ordering.
| Pack (six tins) | Price | Price per kg |
|---|---|---|
| 6 × 200 g | €19.49 | €16.24 |
| 6 × 400 g | €25.49 | €10.62 |
| 6 × 810 g | €34.49 | €7.10 |
The larger packs cost less per kilogram. Compare cost by actual daily intake, using the feeding table above, rather than by the price of a single tin.
Cats.com reports that ANIfit is sold directly by the brand and by a few European pet-food retailers, and that it was not widely available on Amazon when it reviewed the brand. The official shop lists delivery to Germany and several other European countries, including the United Kingdom. Cats.com also reports a free trial meal from the brand. That offer may not be available in every market, so confirm it on the brand’s site before counting on it.
Opening, storing and serving
The manufacturer advises using an opened tin within two days, refrigerating it, and serving it not cold. The page also says an opened tin can be frozen immediately after opening. These are the brand’s handling directions.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →How to decide whether it suits your cat
- Check that the exact pack is labelled as complete cat food and matches your cat’s life stage.
- Calculate the daily amount from your cat’s current weight using the brand’s ranges, then adjust for body condition with your veterinarian.
- Ask the manufacturer for a typical analysis and calorie figure if you need to compare the food with another diet.
- Introduce the food gradually over several days, mixing it with the current food and increasing the share each day. Watch appetite, stool quality and coat condition during the change.
- Check the price per kilogram against the feeding amount your cat actually needs, and confirm delivery and returns for your country before buying a large pack.
Who should look at other options first
- Owners on a tight budget, since Cats.com rates price 5/10 and the cost per kilogram is high at smaller pack sizes.
- Cats with medical conditions, or any cat on a prescription or therapeutic diet, which should not be switched without veterinary advice.
- Owners who want a fully independent, laboratory-verified assessment, because the sources reviewed here include no laboratory testing and no controlled feeding trial of this product.
The Bottom Line
ANIfit Fisch à la Mode is a credible, high-meat complete wet food for cats whose owners can afford it and are willing to check the label and feeding plan. Its declared ingredients are specific and its brand reputation in one editorial review is strong, but the price is a real drawback, and no independent source reviewed here shows a health benefit beyond the label. Confirm the adequacy statement, feed by body weight and body condition, and consult your veterinarian for any cat with a medical condition.
