The patent records do not establish that the method works as a cat translator, has been independently validated, or is available as a consumer product.
In other words, the filing describes a way to interpret animal signals—not proof that a system can decode a cat’s meow into a verified English sentence.
What Baidu’s patent proposes
The Chinese application, titled “Animal language conversion method, device, electronic device and storage medium,” names Beijing Baidu Netcom Science and Technology Co Ltd as assignee. The CN119943059A record lists a filing and priority date of December 6, 2024, publication on May 6, 2025, and a grant publication, CN119943059B, dated December 2, 2025. Is this literal translation of a cat’s meow?
Not according to what the patent records establish. The proposed output is a human-language rendering of an inferred animal state. That is more accurately described as multimodal emotion or intent inference than as verified, word-for-word translation.
A generated phrase might be a convenient way to describe what a system thinks an animal’s signals indicate. The patent description does not demonstrate that a cat intended those exact words or that the output reliably captures the animal’s meaning.

What should cat owners take away?
The filing is a proposal for using multiple kinds of animal data to infer a state and express that inference in human language. It is not evidence that Baidu has launched a cat-translator app or demonstrated a reliable way to translate meows.
Until a system is independently validated, treat any generated interpretation as an estimate, not a transcript or a health assessment. Pay attention to your cat’s behavior and circumstances, and consult a veterinarian about concerning changes.
