What the evidence says about nectarines
The available veterinary references address peaches, not nectarines. They do not establish that nectarine flesh is either safe or toxic to cats, and they do not support a safe serving size or a claim that nectarines provide cats with a nutritional benefit.

Because nectarines are closely related to peaches, it is prudent to keep nectarine pits and plant parts away from cats. This precaution should not be mistaken for a nectarine-specific toxicology finding.

These sources concern peaches. They justify keeping the corresponding nectarine parts inaccessible as a precaution, but they do not prove that nectarine flesh has the same risk profile.
If your cat ate a nectarine

If your cat ate a small amount of flesh and is acting normally, the available sources do not establish a nectarine-specific danger or a safe amount. Contact your veterinarian for advice tailored to your cat, especially if you are unsure how much was eaten or the cat becomes unwell.

Pit, seed, leaves, or stems
Contact a veterinarian promptly if your cat chewed or swallowed a pit, or ate seeds, leaves, or stems. Tell the veterinarian which part was eaten, approximately how much, and when; specifically mention whether the pit was chewed or swallowed. Do not induce vomiting unless a veterinarian specifically instructs you to do so. Cornell describes cats as obligate carnivores that rely on nutrients found in animal products. Treats are occasional extras, not nutritionally complete food, and Cornell gives a general rule of thumb that treats should make up no more than 10 to 15 percent of a cat’s daily calories. Since a safe nectarine serving has not been established, there is no evidence-based reason to offer one. If you want to give your cat an occasional snack, choose a treat made for cats and keep all treats within the general calorie guidance.
