How the ChillX AutoEgg cleans
ChillX says four weight sensors detect waste and start an automatic cycle five minutes after detecting at least 5 g. A horizontal rake moves through the litter and carries waste into a 2 L drawer. The company states the sensors have 1 g accuracy; that is a published specification, not an independently verified measurement.

Cat weight and household size
ChillX says the automatic cycle after use is intended for cats weighing at least 4.4 lb and recommends a cat weight below 15.4 lb (7 kg). It recommends one indoor cat per unit. The company says a unit may work for up to two cats, but the waste drawer will need more frequent emptying. These are manufacturer guidelines, not independently tested capacity limits.

The AutoEgg requires small-particle, fast-and-hard-clumping clay litter, according to ChillX. The company specifically says not to use:

Waste bags and routine upkeep
ChillX says ordinary grocery or trash bags fit the waste drawer; its branded biodegradable or compostable liners are optional. It recommends a deep clean every two to six weeks, depending on the cat and owner preference. The box therefore avoids a requirement for proprietary liners, but it still needs regular drawer emptying and periodic washing.

Safety claims and practical setup
ChillX says the rake will not move while a cat is inside. It also says a sudden weight increase above 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) activates Cat-Stuck Prevention and pauses the cycle for five minutes. These are manufacturer claims; the available evidence does not independently verify the sensors or establish that the unit is objectively safe.
The unit uses 5V/2A USB Type-C power. ChillX says it has no app and stores health data locally. Its FAQ gives conflicting record-retention descriptions, so no precise retention period can be established from that information.

Setup and sensor troubleshooting
- Follow the digital setup guide and its getting-started video.
- Place the box on a hard, flat surface, away from walls and nearby objects, as ChillX’s troubleshooting guidance advises.
- If you move the unit or change litter, unplug and reconnect power to reset the sensors.
- If automatic cleaning does not start, check that cleaning mode is set to Automatic and inspect the sensor clickers, following the manufacturer’s FAQ.
Do not assume the rake will stop reliably in every situation simply because the manufacturer describes a pause function. Monitor your cat’s introduction to any automatic box and consult ChillX’s current instructions if the unit behaves unexpectedly.

When checked on October 7, 2026, ChillX listed the AutoEgg at $399.99 and showed new Minimal White units as backordered with an estimated shipping wait of one to four months. It also described Pastel Pink and Cloud Blue as limited editions with no plan to bring them back that year. The listing stated a 30-day money-back guarantee, free shipping and returns, and a 12-month warranty. Who should consider the AutoEgg?
- It may suit you if you have one indoor cat within the stated weight guidance, use hard-clumping clay litter, and have room for a 30-inch-long unit.
