What flavors does Kismet dog food come in?
The two dry-food recipes currently listed are Chicken & Barley and Salmon & Brown Rice. Kismet’s homepage describes the salmon recipe as chicken-free and markets the recipes for digestive health or sensitive stomachs and skin; these are company descriptions, not a guarantee that either recipe is right for a particular dog.
Kismet says its dry food features animal protein as the first ingredient, includes pre- and probiotics, and has freeze-dried chicken or beef and sweet potato “nugs.” The brand also says its recipes are complete and balanced for dogs at all life stages, including puppies. Treat these as company claims and check the package’s nutritional adequacy statement and ingredient list for the product you are considering.

Ingredients and feeding considerations
Kismet says its recipes contain grains such as brown rice and pearled barley, but do not use corn or wheat. It also says the majority of its ingredients are sourced in the United States, while some essential vitamins and minerals are sourced abroad and blended domestically. These sourcing and formulation details are reported by the company.

A recipe name alone does not establish whether a food suits a dog with an allergy or a medical condition. Review the full label with your veterinarian if your dog has suspected food allergies, a health condition, or a prescription diet.
How should you switch a dog to Kismet?
Kismet recommends transitioning gradually. Its guidance includes mixing equal parts new and previous food on days 3 and 4; follow the current directions on the product page or package, and slow the transition if your dog needs more time.

What does Kismet’s gut-health claim mean?
Kismet’s homepage says “96% of dogs showed improved gut health in 45 days.” Chewy separately describes a third-party clinical study in which “100% of dogs showed improvement in at least one gut health biomarker after switching to Kismet.” These are different claims from different pages and should not be combined or treated as independently verified proof that the food improves health.
The study report and details such as its protocol and sample size were not available in the reviewed materials. The figures should therefore be attributed to the pages making them, not presented as proof of superiority over other foods.
