Sully, a dachshund shown riding in a front carrier during a sunny outing in Nashville, Tennessee, appears to have found a more appealing way to take in the city. DogTime reports that the Instagram reel was posted by @cowboy_sully, with on-screen text joking that the ride is “a hundred times better than going for a walk.”
What happens in Sully’s video?
In DogTime’s October 6, 2026 report, Sully rides against his person’s chest in a front carrier while they are out in Nashville. The reported on-screen line reads, “POV: You discovered something a hundred times better than going for a walk.” The post’s caption, as quoted by DogTime, adds, “Who Needs a Walk When You’ve Got a Ride,” and “walking is for peasants apparently.”
The joke is the contrast between a dachshund’s usual walk and the comfortable passenger’s view. It is playful post copy, not evidence that Sully dislikes walking or a reliable way to infer how he feels.
Can carrying a puppy be useful on an outing?
Yes. A young puppy may tire during an outing, and the American Kennel Club advises owners to watch for fatigue. Its puppy guidance suggests carrying a small puppy home or bringing a stroller along when needed: AKC puppy exercise guidance.

How should a front carrier fit a dachshund?
Measure the dog rather than choosing a carrier by breed label alone. The AKC recommends enough room for the dog to move and change position, and warns against keeping a dog in one position for hours. As a sizing illustration, it says a 9-inch-tall dachshund would feel cramped in a carrier that is also 9 inches tall; it suggests at least 12 inches of carrier height to allow different positions. That example is a practical fit guide, not a universal measurement for every dachshund.
