This review covers Dutch.com, a U.S. online veterinary telehealth service—not veterinary care in the Netherlands. Dutch says it connects pet owners with U.S.-licensed veterinarians by video and messaging. Its membership may be convenient for non-emergency questions and follow-up, but it cannot replace an in-person examination, diagnostics, or emergency care. The points below assess the company’s published terms and claims; they are not based on hands-on testing or an independent clinical evaluation.
What is Dutch, and how does it work?
Dutch describes itself as an online veterinary telehealth service. The company says it facilitates consultations and partners with pharmacies; it is not itself a veterinary practice or pharmacy. Its published process can include questions about symptoms, questionnaires or photos, a video appointment, and a follow-up treatment plan. The exact process depends on the pet’s concern and the veterinarian’s judgment. Dutch’s service page
According to Dutch’s membership information, members can contact U.S.-licensed veterinarians through video and messaging for up to five pets, with unlimited follow-ups. Those are company-described membership features; check the live plan terms for the configuration available when you enroll. Dutch membership details
What does a Dutch membership cost?
Dutch’s Help Center lists plans starting at $11 per month. That is a published starting price, not a guarantee of the amount a particular customer will pay: plans and promotions can change, so confirm the current checkout price and terms before signing up. Medication and other recommended treatment are not included in the membership fee; Dutch says those costs vary with the pet’s needs. Dutch Help Center: membership and treatment costs

Before joining, compare the recurring membership charge with how often you expect to use consultations, how many pets you need covered, and whether separately purchased medication or treatment changes the overall cost. Also check appointment availability, eligibility in your state, and how the service directs pets to local care when a virtual visit is not enough.
Can Dutch prescribe medication online?
Prescription access depends on state law and the veterinarian’s clinical judgment. Dutch says that where virtual prescribing is permitted, a customer can book with a veterinarian licensed in that state, who may prescribe if appropriate. Where virtual prescribing is not allowed, a consultation may still offer general advice or non-prescription options. Check Dutch’s current state eligibility and applicable requirements before relying on a virtual visit for a prescription; the company’s description is not a substitute for current legal guidance. When is an online vet not enough?
A video or messaging consultation cannot provide a hands-on physical examination or perform in-clinic diagnostic tests. Dutch lists emergencies, wounds that need stitches, and problems requiring blood work, X-rays, ultrasound, or surgery as situations that need in-person care. Its service page says a veterinarian may refer a pet to a local clinic. Do not use telehealth as a substitute for urgent or emergency veterinary care; contact a local clinic or emergency veterinarian when your pet needs immediate assessment. What does Dutch’s published performance claim establish?
Dutch’s Editorial Team reported that 71 percent of its treatment plans, including prescriptions, were sent within 30 minutes. The company’s article was updated September 3, 2026, and medically reviewed by Kate Elden, DVM. This is a company-published statistic, not an independent audit; it does not establish how quickly an individual pet will receive a plan or prescription. Dutch: “What Is Veterinary Telehealth?”

Does this review apply to veterinary care in the Netherlands?
No. Dutch.com’s service page describes U.S.-licensed veterinarians and a U.S. telehealth offering. For veterinary practice in the Netherlands, veterinarians must be registered in the public Register of Veterinary Medical Practitioners, known as the Diergeneeskunderegister. That Dutch registration system is relevant to practice in the Netherlands; it is not the credentialing mechanism for Dutch.com’s U.S. clinicians. Netherlands Enterprise Agency: veterinary practitioner register
The Royal Veterinary Association of the Netherlands (KNMvD) distinguishes telehealth from telemedicine and describes telemedicine as using a digital tool such as video calling to exchange medical information to improve animal health. Its description includes remote consultation, diagnosis, and prescribing as possible telemedicine activities; it is context about the Dutch veterinary profession, not evidence about Dutch.com’s U.S. service. - Double sided design: The bright and easily recognizable text and graphics of the service dog make the label easy to view and read, made of stainless steel and durable metal. It has low allergenicity and will not rust, discolor, or lose luster
- Standard size: The service dog is 3.5cm (1.25 inches) (1.2 inches) and can perfectly fit most pets.
- ADA Access: According to ADA law, service dog IDs help identify your service or work dog entering restaurants, buildings, hospitals, shopping centers, hotels, cruise ships, grocery stores, and airplanes
- Perfect Pattern: The service dog IDs are all made of sparkling polished metal with prominent concave lettering and bright enamel decoration. Red edging adds extra charm
- Not easy to fall off: Service dog ID tag is a stronger and more sturdy clip, worried that your dog collar label may come loose? Don't worry. Each service dog ID tag has its own sturdy "lobster claw" clip, which is durable and easy to fix.
Who may find Dutch useful?
Dutch may suit U.S. pet owners looking for remote access to a veterinarian for concerns that can reasonably be discussed online, especially if they value messaging and follow-up access for multiple pets. It is a poorer fit if the pet’s problem is urgent, likely to need a physical exam or diagnostics, or if the owner expects medication to be included in the membership price. State-dependent prescribing also means a virtual appointment does not guarantee a prescription.
