Can puppies safely be around horses?
Only with an experienced handler, a controlled setting and active supervision. Do not yank the rope or chase the puppy around the horse. Have the horse handler secure the horse, call the puppy away with a trained cue and remove the dog only when you can do so without entering the horse’s kick zone.

A horse can kick backward with little warning, and a small dog may be hard for the horse to see clearly. Keeping the dog out of the rear and side kick arcs is a basic precaution, not a guarantee of safety.
