Its Complete Adult Chicken dry food lists 50% chicken ingredients, while its Complete Grain-Free Adult Meaty Selection wet food has separate compositions for each recipe. Here’s how the labels compare—and what they do and do not tell you.
What is Harringtons cat food?
Harringtons sells both dry and wet cat food, including adult recipes and grain-free wet selections. The inspected adult products are presented as complete foods, but that description applies to the particular product, not automatically to every item in the range. Check the exact package for its life-stage suitability and whether it is labelled complete.
PetFood.co.uk’s catalogue contained 25 Harringtons products across dog and cat, dry and wet; its product records were checked from 27 July to 2 August 2026. That is a catalogue count, not a quality rating or a count of cat foods alone. PetFood.co.uk’s Harringtons catalogue
What is in Harringtons Complete Adult Chicken dry food?
Harringtons Pet Food’s product-page label lists 50% chicken ingredients in Complete Adult Chicken: 7% freshly prepared chicken, 37% dried chicken, 4% chicken fat and 2% chicken gravy. Rice and maize follow in the ingredient list, alongside beet pulp, minerals, salmon oil, chicory extract/inulin and yucca extract. These figures describe this dry recipe only. Harringtons Complete Adult Chicken
#1 Best Overall
Harringtons reports 32% protein, 12% fat, 2% crude fibre, 9% crude ash, 2% omega-6 and 0.6% omega-3 for this recipe. Those are label analysis values, not a verdict on how well an individual cat will tolerate or benefit from the food.
The manufacturer’s chart suggests 45 g daily for cats weighing 1–3 kg, 55 g for 3–5 kg and 65 g for 6 kg or more. The ranges overlap at 3 kg and 5 kg, so use the current package chart for your cat’s weight rather than treating these as precise individual prescriptions. Harringtons says activity, age and other factors also matter.
What is in the wet Meaty Selection?
Harringtons describes Complete Grain-Free Adult Meaty Selection in Gravy as an adult grain-free wet food, with individual compositions for its different recipes. In the beef recipe, the manufacturer lists 32% freshly prepared beef and chicken, including 4% beef, followed by animal protein, tapioca, vitamins and minerals, and natural caramel syrup. Its stated analysis is 11.5% protein, 3.5% fat, 2.2% ash, 0.4% fibre and 82% moisture. Harringtons Complete Grain-Free Adult Meaty Selection

- Industry-leading levels of animal-based protein to promote lean muscles and a healthy heart
- High moisture content to help cats stay hydrated
- Shredded texture that cats love and is picky-eater approved

- Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids nourish your cat’s skin and help promote a beautiful, shiny coat.
The manufacturer provides feeding guidance that differs depending on whether the wet food is fed alone or alongside dry food. Use the instructions for the exact recipe and package; there is no single pouch count that applies to every cat or mixed-feeding routine.

Is Harringtons grain-free or complete?
It depends on the product. Harringtons describes the inspected wet Meaty Selection as grain-free, whereas the Complete Adult Chicken dry recipe includes rice and maize. If avoiding grains is important, check the full ingredient list of the particular product rather than relying on the brand name or range.
The inspected adult recipes are presented as complete food. Confirm the wording and life-stage label on the product you plan to feed, especially if considering a different Harringtons recipe.
How should you compare Harringtons recipes?
Compare products on their own labels rather than treating a number from one recipe as representative of the range. Useful points to check include:
- Exact product and life stage: confirm the full name and whether it is intended as complete food for your cat’s life stage.
- Named animal ingredients: note which animals are listed and the declared percentages for that specific recipe.
- Format and moisture: wet and dry foods contain very different amounts of water. Their printed protein percentages are not directly comparable without accounting for that difference.
- Analysis and energy: compare analytical constituents and any stated energy value for the exact product.
- Feeding directions: follow the current package, including whether the guide assumes wet food alone or a combination with dry food.
- Pack size and current price: compare like-for-like quantities and the price available to you; neither is fixed by the recipe name.
This method helps you assess the information available on the label; it does not establish that one format is inherently better than another.
What do feeding guides and retailer listings say?
Ocado lists the chicken dry food at 378 kcal per 100 g and gives daily amounts of 45 g for a 3 kg cat, 55 g for 4 kg and 65 g for 5 kg. Those are retailer-published figures and directions, not a substitute for the current package. The retailer describes its listing as adult complete food for cats aged eight weeks onwards, while Harringtons calls its product Complete Adult Chicken. Check the exact pack and adjust the amount to your cat rather than assuming all listings or versions use identical wording. Ocado Harringtons chicken dry food listing

What does independent commentary say?
Cats.com characterises Harringtons as moderately good overall, while criticising selected recipes for ingredients such as wheat gluten or caramel syrup. It also reports both positive customer comments and complaints about service and delivery. These are the reviewer’s assessments and examples of customer comments, not controlled feeding evidence or a representative customer survey. Cats.com’s Harringtons review
Cats.com also notes differences between some recipe information in its review and company information, including a crude-ash discrepancy between a website value and packaging for a dry recipe. Its detailed recipe analysis should therefore be kept separate from the current manufacturer label figures above: do not combine figures from different recipes or label versions as though they describe one product.

A declared meat percentage alone does not establish nutritional superiority, digestibility or suitability for a particular cat. The official product pages provide ingredient information, analysis and feeding instructions, but the sources cited here do not establish independent feeding trials for every Harringtons cat food. Nor does a general review show how a specific cat will respond.

Where can you buy Harringtons?
Cats.com reports that Harringtons is sold through Amazon UK and other UK retailers, but stock and listings can change. Before buying, confirm that a listing matches the exact recipe and product version you intend to feed. Retailer pages and packaging may not use identical descriptions, so the package in hand is the final reference for ingredients and directions.
