To get the Cat Plushie in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, update to Version 3.0 or later, unlock the hotel, decorate four hotel rooms, then return the next day and speak to Grams. The plushie should appear in the hotel souvenir shop for 120 Hotel Tickets. The unlock steps and item details below are reported by Game8’s guide, updated January 18, 2026; Nintendo’s pages confirm the game and update context but do not independently verify these item-specific mechanics.
Steps to unlock the Cat Plushie
- Update the game. The Cat Plushie was introduced in Version 3.0, so install Version 3.0 or later.
- Unlock the hotel. Game8 lists a three-star island rating and having Kapp’n unlocked as prerequisites. The hotel is at the pier.
- Decorate four hotel rooms. Complete the interior decorating for four rooms.
- Return the following day. Speak to Grams in the hotel lobby and check the souvenir shop catalog.
- Buy the plushie. The catalog price is 120 Hotel Tickets. Game8 also reports that a featured display may show it at a discounted price of 84 Tickets.
Price and where to buy it again
The listed regular cost is 120 Hotel Tickets, an in-game currency—not real-world money. If the plushie appears as a featured display item, Game8 reports a possible 84-Ticket price. After obtaining it, the guide says you can repurchase it through the hotel souvenir catalog; it is not available through Nook Shopping.
Cat Plushie colors and customization
Game8 lists eight variations: Orange Tabby, Gray Tabby, White, Black, Calico, Cream & Brown, Gray, and Yellow. Your island’s default color is random, but you can change the plushie through Cyrus’s customization service at Harv’s Island after unlocking his shop. The listed customization fee is 3,100 Bells.
What to know about the instructions
The exact unlock sequence, prices, color options, and repurchase details are guide-reported mechanics rather than an official Nintendo item guide. Nintendo’s DLC support page and game page provide general game context, not confirmation of the Cat Plushie route. If a later game update changes the hotel catalog, check the in-game shop for the current availability.
