The 2024 AKC National Championship Dog Show is no longer airing live. The event took place on December 14–15, 2024, and its television special aired on December 29. For the broadest selection of replays—including breed-group judging, Best in Show, agility, obedience, rally, and junior events—start with AKC.tv.
Where to watch the 2024 AKC National Championship now
AKC.tv was the official home for the event’s complete streaming coverage. The archive may not always be linked directly from the AKC National Championship information page, so use AKC.tv’s own search tool:
- Open AKC.tv.
- Select Search in the top navigation.
- Enter 2024 AKC National Championship.
- If that produces no useful result, search for AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin.
- Check the Events section as well as the search results.
The available archive may include the National Championship groups and Best in Show, Best Bred-by-Exhibitor, National Owner-Handled Series events, Puppy and Junior Stakes, Junior Showmanship Finals, agility, obedience, and rally. Because AKC.tv’s catalog changes, a missing 2024 result does not necessarily mean the event was never streamed; it may have been moved, renamed, or removed from the current archive.
Can you watch it on ABC or ESPN2?
Not live anymore. ABC carried the three-hour television broadcast on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. ESPN2 showed an encore from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Eastern that evening. Those were scheduled broadcasts, not an ongoing streaming library, so they are not current live-viewing options for the 2024 show.

Do not confuse it with the National Dog Show
The AKC National Championship and The National Dog Show are separate events. The National Dog Show is the Thanksgiving competition associated with NBC and Peacock. The 2024 AKC National Championship was an AKC event whose television special aired on ABC, with an ESPN2 encore, while its wider competition coverage was streamed through AKC.tv.

Is the 2024 show on ESPN+?
There is no official indication in the 2024 viewing information that ESPN+ carried the complete event. The confirmed viewing routes were the AKC.tv streams and the ABC/ESPN2 television broadcasts. If you find an ESPN+ listing, check that it identifies the AKC National Championship rather than another dog show or a short television segment.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhat to try if the replay is missing or will not play
- Use the full event name. Search both “2024 AKC National Championship” and “AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin.”
- Look under Events. The replay may not appear in a general search result or may be organized under an event page.
- Try the browser version. If the television app does not show the result, open AKC.tv on a computer or mobile browser.
- Check the device. Update the AKC app and the operating system, then restart the app. Older Apple TV models may not support the app.
- Check your connection. Video quality depends on available internet or cellular bandwidth. A wired connection or stronger Wi-Fi can help on a television.
- Do not rely on the current AKC event page alone. The main page may promote a newer championship and only link to the most recent on-demand coverage rather than displaying a clearly labeled 2024 replay.
For technical problems, use the AKC.tv support page. Archive availability is controlled by AKC.tv, so support is also the best place to confirm whether an older replay has been removed.
