A lion cub’s response to an adult lion’s repeated roughhousing is the comic payoff in a video described by iHeartDogs as taking place at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. The article credits the image and video to b/60 via YouTube. “Fed-up” and “retaliates” are playful headline language; the available account shows a cub responding, but does not establish what either lion intended.
What happens in the clip?
In its May 26, 2023 article, iHeartDogs describes an adult male lion roughhousing with a cub, then the cub responding. The sequence is presented as a playful exchange. The article does not provide a detailed account of the cub’s response, so it is best not to add specific actions beyond that description.
Why the headline says the cub “retaliates”
“Picking on him” and “retaliates” make the moment sound like a family comedy: a cub has had enough and gives his dad a taste of his own medicine. That is the publisher’s interpretation, not a verified account of the lions’ feelings or motives. The grounded description is simpler: an adult lion roughhouses with a cub, and the cub responds.
Where the video comes from
iHeartDogs places the scene at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo and credits the video and image to b/60 via YouTube. The article does not name the lions or establish when the clip was originally uploaded, and the available account does not independently confirm the zoo as the source of the footage. The zoo setting and credit should therefore be understood as details reported by iHeartDogs, not as independently verified upload information.
