Dust and cleanup
Barrington reported a large plume of dust while pouring, which settled fairly quickly. She also found that the litter did not clump. That matters if you prefer to lift urine-soaked clumps rather than scoop solids and manage the litter as a whole. Barrington noted that dust may be a concern for pets with respiratory issues; this is her observation, not a medical finding.
Cost and odor control
The reviewer described the price per pound as relatively high. Her two-week test should not be read as confirmation of PetSafe’s longer duration claims: PetSafe’s “30+ days” and “up to two months” figures are separate manufacturer claims, and the review’s disclosed test lasted two weeks.

How do you use the litter?
PetSafe’s directions are to add the pebbles to a depth of about 2 inches, scoop solids, stir the litter, and replace it when its absorption decreases. The company says the product can be used in any type of litter box, but that broad statement needs a specific qualification for ScoopFree self-cleaning boxes.
Is it compatible with every ScoopFree self-cleaning box?
No blanket compatibility conclusion is safe. PetSafe’s natural-litter product page says it can be used with a ScoopFree crystal self-cleaning box when paired with a ScoopFree Natural Reusable Tray. However, the cited ScoopFree manual for the models it covers says to use only the specified disposable crystal trays and explicitly warns against natural litter.
